Doctor is triggered, in an exaggerated way, by anything psych or mental-health related. This must be a family-of-origin issue (which should be explored via therapy) and it manifests as an exaggerated response. Resolving this issue could be the difference between a good (and smart) doctor and a great doctor, and would surely improve the health and happiness of both doctor and patient. We all have imperfections, room for improvement, and blind spots -- even doctors.

Is NOT comfortable working with patients who are receiving mental health care, or patients who have chronic pain. Has insinuated or point-blank stated that ER-visit level severe physical pain is all in one's head and will go away by itself once test results give no reason to worry, alternates between accusing patients with pain related to an autoimmune disease of trying to medicate their feelings, suggesting patients who are currently using Kaiser's mental health services at their own initiation need to just go see a psychiatrist, and then in the same breath threatening to stop refilling antidepressants that Kaiser's psychiatrist prescribed. Bizarre. Started on very first visit and has only gotten worse. I felt stigmatized for receiving mental health care and after a year of this, am ready to switch doctors. If she does this to you, be aware it does not improve once she gets to know you as a responsible individual. I wish I had switched sooner. Given that she works in Kaiser's… transgender clinic, a population disproportionately affected by depression and anxiety as well as sexual assault, her discomfort with proactively-managed anxiety and depression is especially troubling.

This "doc" denies primary care to patients with mental health diagnoses. Even flu shots!
