Dr. Jennifer Lee Smith, MD

Where has everyone gone now they forced her to close. Ive seen multiple people but cant get the connection i had with her so its not working.

I liked her, and I liked knowing I had a life line if I ever needed one. Now that I need one, I'm not sure what to do without her.

I'm so upset that she's no longer able to treat me, she has literally saved my life. Do you honestly think that she woke up one day and said I'm not doing this anymore? I'm sure nys is is trying to shove it up her @as. I'm sure they came in and just closed her down! She had a really bad car accident last winter and right from ICU to her office to help her patients. And she has helped me more then you know. I dont know what I'm gonna do without her. I've been mentally ill at the age of 18 I've been to several different places Drs ect, I found her at the age 45,i had many bad mental health issues and bad drs. She was the only one that cared,and treated me according to the info I gave her about myself. If she wasnt for you,you should of moved on, now i have to suffer because we live in a society where people point fingers, blame and crush one's career because you dont care for her. And if suicide happens to creep my way again she will be mentioned in my obituary, thank you all for not… simply moving on.

I was a patient of Jennifer Smith from 2018 through 2019. Four weeks ago I showed up for my scheduled weekly appointment and she was not there. Her assistant was missing too. I called the main number, I called her supposed 24x7 emergency number, and I wrote to her private email. She responded to nothing; as if she dropped off the face of the earth. The week prior she told me she was having problems with patients that reported her and were suing her. Also the week before my Excellus BCBS insurance company wrote me a certified letter saying they were removing her as a provider effective immediately, to find another psychiatrist, and gave me an emergency 800 number to call if I needed their help before finding a new psychiatrist. Another thing of mention - she really pushes a LOT of drugs on you even if you don't need or want them. She kept giving me prescriptions for 120 xanax a month. Who takes Xanax 4 times a day, every day? I literally have pill vials upon pill vials… full of these drugs. The pharmacist kept getting requests to fill them from her monthly and he would put in a bottle of 120 when I would pick up my monthly medicines.

I've been a patient for three years. Dr. Smith's approach differs from others and her personality is strong, which may not be suited for everyone but with all said and done she gets the job done. Talk therapy with medication works. Those seeking meds ONLY as the most important part of treatment will see things differently. As for the male office manager -- Kelly -- he's increased the efficiency of that practice 100-percent over the past year. He is efficient. For those who've stated otherwise, it's clear from your review that your treatment was not too your liking due to compliance issues/abuse/drug seeking/poor planning -- one does not get removed from any practice without just cause. You reap what you sow, they say. And doctor is not responsible for the choices that you make.

Dr. Smith is okay but gives that "man" in the office too much control. I'm not sure he gives her messages or mail if he does't want to. And he is very rude and unprofessional. I too was prescribed controlled substances and then dropped with no way to get nee prescriptions. And its not easy to find a psychiatrist around here. Very unprofessional of her. It is very dcary that these two people are in mental health field.

I've read several comments regarding treatment similar to mine. Was a patient for a year. She prescribed several controlled substances, then dropped me without setting me up with another psychiatrist. I was left to go cold turkey on what could be dangerous drugs. And her male "receptionist" is a rude, unprofessional individual who should not be working in mental health. Both should be banned.

She listened to me, we talked for 4 hours on the first visit to get an in depth comprehensive diagnosis. She gave me medication she thought would work and they did! She also gave me an "as needed" anti anxiety medication that I only had to use ONCE in the first month. It's nice to know it's there if I need it but, as she told me, it's not something to take every day. From having been a pharmacy technician for nearly 10 years, she knows how to write prescriptions correctly. Definitely recommend!!
