First impressions are crucial for any business wouldn't you agree? This is how mine went.... I walked in and was greeted kindly. Overhearing an elderly woman on the phone saying that this office was only about the money, I sat down and fell into the bottom of the sofa to fill out the 4 page information sheet. The gentleman beside me had already been waiting an hour for his appointment and said that 3 people had come and gone after he had arrived. Apparently he had a 2pm appointment and they called him to see if he could make it earlier. It was also his first time to their office. He then said that he was thinking of leaving if he had to wait any longer but that he had already filled out his paperwork. After hearing the gentleman complain, the woman across from us said that she has waited over 3 hours in the past for an appointment. I was thankful that I only waited over 30 minutes for my cleaning. On the plus side I did like my hygienist Helena. However, after my cleaning we… waited for Dr. Jennifer Szakaly for 20 minutes. When she finally came in she did not introduce herself nor did she acknowledge that I was a new patient. She went into a referral of implants (I have only ever had partials from a car accident I had in my youth.) She then downplayed my partial and said that she would never have even offered someone a partial as a solution. I explained to her that I knew implants were very expensive several years ago and it was not an option that I could even afford back then. She looked in my mouth for all of a minute and she promptly left the room. I was surprised that we were done and that she did not offer any other advice on the reason I had come to her office in the first place. I have 2 sensitive teeth one from grinding and another that needs a crown. When I asked the hygienist why she didn't offer any advice she went to ask Dr Jennifer. She came back and offered that Dr Jennifer would see me again for a consult at a later appointment if I wanted. (It was then that I found out that she was referring me to her husband next door for implants) Trying to not show my irritation as I went to check out I asked if I needed to pay and the nice receptionist said that they would just bill my insurance. I was not offered a printout of what they were billing. " I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the ground." A hygiene appointment is usually a schedule block of 45 minutes. It is used to take X-rays, clean and evaluate your teeth. My appointment was set for 11:30am and I did not get out until 2:10pm
