Dr. Jennifer Rajene Wolkin, PhD

I had two scheduled appointments wit Dr. Wolkin, but she never arrived to either. Dr. Wolkin struggled to stick to her schedule and respect my time. Reaching out for mental health help is hard enough, but to feel like she prioritizes other patients over others is a horrible feeling. There were two client emergencies that impacted my scheduled appointment so I was canceled on AFTER the appointment started. I was waiting for her to call or respond asking where she was and 30 minutes later I was told there was another client emergency so she could not see me at our scheduled time, that I confirmed. The irony is patients have to stick to a 24-hr cancelation policy or they have to pay a fee. She apologized afterwards, but those are just words and this happened twice - for our intake session. I needed someone who was reliable and could keep a scheduled appointment (or let me know in advance when they had to cancel). She said she couldn't keep a consistent schedule which was a big red flag.

Worst bed side manner. Rescheduled my appointment over 5 or 6 times and then when she finally made time for my appointment she rushed me and didn’t even look me in the eye and was extremely dismissive. She treats patients of color like second class citizens.

When a psychologist engages in treatment with a challenging population, reviews should not be heeded as gospel.

terrible. cancelled appointments- never returned my calls. has no care about her patient even if they have trauma. All she had to do was a return and phone call and make sure the patient was okay.
