Dr. Jennifer Marie Zikria, MD

It pains me to write this review as Dr. Zikria is a lovely person. It seemed to me though that she wasn't paying attention to my individual medical situation. Just breezing through our office visits and glancing over things, thus providing generic care solutions to my cancer. I had to point out a concerning inconsistency in my blood work to her that she didn't notice. Also, I'd ask questions and she'd sidestep them with other matters that I wasn't inquiring about. There wasn't a lot of "doctor talk", which I'd received from other doctors during my cancer journey. It made her seem less knowledgeable. It seemed she felt she was there to put me at ease, not give valuable insight and recommendations for my particular case. Not to mention, office staff is unorganized with scheduling, sending referrals, returning calls. Frustrating.

I am only able to write this review, because Dr. Zikria and her NP Josie have done everything they can to save my life. She has a big heart and has aggressively responded to every challenge that has arisen with outstanding results each time. I brag about her and the staff all the time. No matter what happens down the road with my health, I can never thank her enough for all the care she has given me and the time she has added to my life and continues to do so.

A very sweet, caring doctor who goes above and beyond to care for you. When my condition became so bad that I needed more help, she had no problem calling specialists at Yale and deferring to them on difficult questions. She sticks by you and researches rare cases, and because of that, she saved my life.

Dr. Jennifer Zikria is an absolutely wonderful physician and person. Her immediate action and skillful plan of chemotherapy and surgery saved me from a certain death due to pancreatic cancer. She has an amazing capacity of caring for the medical and emotional needs of her patients. Dr. Jennifer visited me on her own time in the recovery room after my surgery. Her immense faith and positive attitude had a great influence on my well-being throughout my treatment. I would recommend Dr. Zikria and the staff of the Praxair Cancer Treatment Center of Danbury Hospital to anyone who has cancer. These few words are inadequate to express my gratitude to her and her colleagues.
