Dr. Jenny Mariella Jaque, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Jaque for at least 5 years now and having seen other good gynecologists prior, I was still blown away by how wonderful a doctor she is. I actually look forward to going to my annual pelvic exam now! First, she really cares about you as a person and that genuine care and compassion shines through in every interaction you have with her. Second, she is a skilled doctor who makes everything as comfortable as possible. Third, she is very knowledgeable and helps make sure her patients feel empowered and knowledgeable about their bodies and choices--years ago when I wanted to switch to an IUD, she was able to pull up on the computer a presentation she'd created that showed the pros and cons of the 2 different types of IUD as well as other birth control methods. She didn't try to steer me in one way or the other, just gave me all the info and patiently answered all my questions so that I could feel very comfortable in my choice (and I LOVE my copper IUD!). Fourth, she is… not at all judgmental and is very sex positive, so you won't ever feel shamed or judged here. Just recently, I was having a hard time and she sat and listened and talked with me for as long as needed to help me feel okay and assured me "we would get through this together." And coming from her, I believe it. I know she will be there on my team and help me any way she can. I cannot recommend Dr. Jaque enough. Yes, her schedule is busy, but it is probably because so many patients want to see her. But even when I've had to reschedule my appt, they've been able to get me in pretty quick and once when I had an urgent issue, they were able to get me in the same day. She even called afterwards a couple of times to check up on me.

Dr. Jacque was my favorite doctor but it's impossible to make an appointment with her no matter how urgent. Her staff is rude, don't accept messages from the appointments line, and hung up on me when I asked them why the soonest appointment was 3 months away. Don't bother

Single worst experience with a doctor ever. I had asked for an earlier appt; relying on scans that turned out to be faulty, she opted to slot me in on the regular queue. Which was a very long one--a month. Finally, we met to discuss the need for a biopsy based on my symptoms. She never examined me herself--didn't ever touch me, and would have undertaken a biopsy without ever examining me if I hadn't fired her immediately. Based only her interpretation of my records, she (i) insisted I didn't have the symptoms I claimed (and another doctor reported me) to have; (ii) insisted that I shouldn't continue to have pain based on my scans; (iii) when I became frustrated, asked me whether I had a partner (?) or was feeling depressed. Despite the fact that I had urgent symptoms, her office wanted to wait to schedule me for the biopsy a month and a half after my visit. She has terrible bedside manner--she is defensive, condescending and insensitive. I knew I would never go back, and scheduled an… appt one minute after I left her office, with another doctor who discovered growths and scheduled surgery and a biopsy within two days. Run, run, run like the house is on fire away from this doctor.

Seems to have poor medical knowledge.

I was truly impressed by Dr. Jaque. She is so wonderful, competent and took the time to explain everything to me in great detail I can highly recommend her!

Love love love her! She's an amazing physician who cares about her patients. I had many questions and she took time to explain everything to me in using language I could understand. I highly recommend her.

Listening is a skill that not a lot of Doctors have. Anger management is needed for this person and a different career where her anger can be useful. If her present career is to be an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at LAC USC Medical Center, then teach others to have compassion, understanding, patients, and a happier self-esteem. Make them feel welcomed and not a slab of meat to be a guinea pig for your procedure qualifications to be a license Gynecologist. For her, there is little to be done. She is set in her bad ways, but needs to learn to write prescriptions, do not assume you know everything, take time to listen to the patient and do not go in having your own agenda and imposing it on to the patient. Her writing skills are atrocious. They are meant to hurt the patient, blame the patient, and cause confusion for others, any who reads the patient file with or without the patients permission and knowledge. LAC USC should be avoided if possible. The… level of care, respect, safety and friendliness is now where to be found by the personnel who work there. I encourage all patients to rate their doctors for all to see what kind of person the so-called medical professionals they are.
