Worst psychiatrist ever to practice psychiatry. Too much into self.

Dr. Jenny Smith is an awesome Dr., however, I hate the new system they have now. Since they turned everything over to a company called CPMH you can not call her office at any time and talk to a real person. If you need to make an appointment or have a question you have to leave your name and number and the recording says they will return your call by 5:00 pm. I have tried this several times and never received a call back. This means you have to be tied to your phone all day in case they do call you back. This is not only very inconvenient but ridiculous especially for people who work on a shop floor where phones are not allowed. I live in another town and wanted to call and see if I had left my insurance card there at a their office but I could not get a live person. The atmosphere has become very impersonal and it is very stressful when you have to wait for 2-3 days to get information that normally only takes only 2-3 minutes. I wish they would go back to the old way of doing things.… It feels more like a money market now.

Dr. Smith is very knowledgeable. Awesome Dr.

The biggest problem I have is calling the office to change or make a new appt! No one ever answers the phone! It also takes me several tries to ge my meds filled through the drugstore!

Crabgrass outside & plants dead by door .There are dead leaves on floor in reception room there is an over abundance of unprofessional and unfriendly signs all over their office. There was no tissue in restroom and it was dirty The receptionist was chewing gum. There are magazines in reception room 2 years old and it is junky a very unprofessional looking place!! The whole office is dirty and junky and staff is just sitting and doing nothing at desks in back office. I am not patient I am just driving someone to an appointment. I am a medical professional and I know the image of this place is sub-standard!!!

I've been seeing Dr. Jenny Smith in Wilson regularly for over a year. To be fair, I absolutely agree with other reviewers that Dr. Smith is a wonderful counsellor. I had a connection with Dr. Smith that's rare. She has a good sense of humor and we shared some real laughs. However, not even my pharmacy could reach the Wilson staff to get my prescribed, overdue refills. Dr. Smith uses an electronic Rx system, not the usual paper scripts. If that goes awry what do you do? Multiple CVS pharmacy techs. and I worked for well over a week, resending refill requests via that electronic system, next by fax, and then CVS tried a special doctor line. No response. Warning! Do not do what I did next. I went to her (Wilson) office to ask for the refill prescription thinking that it would be easy. You, like me, will automatically be profiled as an escapee from the funny farm whose off your meds. In otherwords, showing up without an appointment asking to briefly speak to your doctor because you… need to refill your prescription sets off alarms. As directed by the clerk, I sat patiently and quietly reading for over an hour. Finally, the office manager appeared and addressed me in an abrupt and rude tone and flatly said Dr. Smith was "all booked up... she doesn't have any openings". CVS finally received the script a day later but the office manager had looked me in the eye with whoever it was she got on the phone and lied to me saying, "the refill's ready. Go get it.", then she slid the glass closed. No apology. I said nothing and left. It was a horrible, dehumanizing encounter that left me dazed and confused. I suppose that from their side of the glass the default perspective is one of tension rather than compassion. From my vantage they certainly behave as though the glass gives them license to treat their 'customers' as unstable burdens on their business. It just seems that their operating principle is to limit human contact as much as possible, and I don't need that stress in my life.

I have been a patient of Dr. Smiths for approx 7 yrs now. She is a great and caring Dr. The office manager is good . The new girl they hired is rude!!!!! Shes there for the paycheck only. I would highly recomment Dr. Smith to anyone

I saw Dr. Smith before leaving the Wilson area for about two years. You can tell she is a very educated, professional woman right from the start. Her bedside manner is comforting and she makes you feel at ease talking to her. However she pushes medication pretty hard, and unless you have an appointment with her you can FORGET about ever getting in contact with her. Her office does not allow voicemails, and the staff does NOT stay proactive on when patient medication is going to expire. I have found myself numerous times having to stop a medication cold turkey because of that. The wait time in the office varies, sometimes it'll be up to an hour, other times, fifteen minutes and you're in. One thing I really didn't like about her was her memory. Each time I came to see her, I would have to remind her of what we last spoke about and remind her of some things she said. I think she should have seen me more often, but that's what it felt like. Otherwise I would say for psychological care,… she is a good choice. For someone local who has the time to put in the little extra effort to make sure that her staff stays on top of how the office runs, and if you are certain that you'll never need to talk to her outside of an appointment, I would recommend her treatment.

Dr. Smith is wonderful, & I am a nurse who has seen, visited & worked w/ many Drs. in my time. She is courteous, respectful & very compassionate. She always points me toward hope, even when I feel hopeless. My family sees another associate in her practice, who is also wonderful &, as Dr. Smith is, is very trustworthy. ALL THE STAFF IS VERY CARING & HELPFUL. THEY HAVE ASSISTED ME IN GETING SEVERAL $100S OF DOLLARS WORTH OF HIGH QUALITY MEDS, FREE FROM THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES. NOT ONE HAS EVER BEEN RUDE OR UNCARING TO ME!!! Her prices are steep, and as we self pay, that can be difficult. But even in that, they are willing to work w/me, telling me their hearts are truly in helping those of us who often times feel hopeless. I HIGHLY recommend!!

Overall I enjoy the Doctor but getting a prescription refilled thru the office staff is ridiculous. It seems as though I have to call numerous times to get them to send the info to my pharmacy.
