This is the best place to be if you really need an eye care

Dr Cotliar came highly recommended. I saw him for a chalazion 2 years ago-- and the experience was fine, he was professional, though the wait was over 30 minutes. This time around-- it was a big waste of time and I did not even get treatment after weeks of wasted time. Made an appointment weeks ago via my PCP. The week prior to my appointment I received multiple phone calls from his office and billing stating that the referral had to be done electronically-- even though my insurance doesn't do electronic referrals. After a few days and over 6 phone calls back and forth with the office manager at my PCP and their billing-- we finally resolved that my referral did not need to be electronic and I was good to go for my appointment (chalazion removal). I was then informed the day of the appointment that the doctor would have to see me twice-- once for re-evaluation-- and once for the removal. Fine. Not ideal since it would cost me more in specialist copays, but fine. Then 35… minutes before the appointment I was called and asked if I could come earlier. I said I'd try to be there 5-10 minutes earlier than anticipated. 3 blocks from the office and 10 minutes early, I received a call that Dr. Cotliar had left the office for an "emergency." Seemed suspect and shady after asking if I could come early. Cancelled my appointment after all that. I do not trust his office staff nor him. He may be a great or even superb doctor, but the hoops you have to jump through and wasted time to get an appointment and see him, is not worth it. I'm going elsewhere and would advise anyone else to do the same

Lack of communication, lack of information, the worst operation.

Dr Jeremy is excellent. He speaks Spanish and is very patient with my elderly father.

Dr. Cotliar was nice, but distant. He tried his hardest though and did the job. You can't help but like him, but you'll try not to.
