Dr. Jeremy David Fields, MD

I was a little uneasy about Dr. Fields doing my husband’s aneurysm coiling because of the negative review below. My husband felt perfectly comfortable with him and soon enough I got on board as well. I am so glad we went with my husbands gut feeling about this surgeon. He is skilled, competent and really good at what he does (this is what I heard from all the nursing staff as my husband was recovering in the ICU.) And although I am very sorry for the loss this reviewer went through, I wanted to post this in case someone else is getting ready to have some procedure done w Dr. Fields and feels uneasy after reading the negative review. Hope this helps :) I would deff recommend him to any family member in need of neurovascular interventions!

I feel we were intentionally wronged by Dr. Fields not informing us in a timely manner of his plan to perform a “pipeline” vs. “coiling” procedure. I find this to be a significant breach of Dr. Jeremy Fields’ duty to care. I cannot tell you how shocked and disappointed I was to not be made aware of the switch in procedure performed until after Dr. Fields already did the procedure. Dr. Fields should have let us known ahead of time, not just put another consent form under the patient’s nose right before surgery. Our first question if he would have informed us beforehand about wanting to do a pipeline instead of coiling would have been "what is your experience in doing this procedure and your success rate?" We were not allowed the opportunity to get this information, nor has Kaiser provided any information to this question when I asked for this information after my husband died (removed from life support ).

Finding out that my husband had a rather large AVM and is inoperable, was crushing. We had been married a year and felt like things were just on a good track after we had moved back to the US. Dr. Fields at no point made us doubt that he had found an alternative solution to a craniotomy. He has an excellent bedside manner. Even when the first of three embolizations did not turn out as expected, he did not give up. My husband is doing very well and we feel that Dr. Fields and his expertise is what helped him get here. Provided excellent counselling before and after my carotid stent. He returned all of my phone calls and addressed all my concerns quite promptly.
