Summary
A Tennessee native, Dr. Jones graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1998, with degrees in Chemistry and Biology. His medical education followed at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he was inducted in the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society in 2001, and graduated summa cum laude in 2002. Dr. Jones then began his internal medicine training at the University of Louisville Department of Medicine and was honored as the most outstanding medicine resident in 2005. After completing his residency, he joined the medical school faculty to serve as the Chief Medical Resident.
Further pursuing his interests, Dr. Jones completed his fellowship training in allergy and immunology at Vanderbilt University in 2008. He is board certified in allergy and immunology, as well as internal medicine, and is active in both the American Academy and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
His research interests include anaphylaxis and the effects of medications on …allergy skin testing. He has had several publications in international medical journals and was invited to present his research in The People’s Republic of China. More locally, Dr. Jones serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Louisville where he lectures and aides in the training of new physicians and medical students, and volunteers at the University of Louisville Allergy Clinic.
Dr. Jones is a Fellow in the Ameican Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). Fellow status is the highest category of membership in the national organizations and reserved for members who have exhibited "superior proficiency in the practice of allergy-immunology".
In their spare time, Dr. Jones and his wife, who is also a physician, enjoy spending time with family, traveling, hiking, and pleasure reading.
