Dr. Jeremy Orgel, MD

I had been going through a pretty rough, frustrating, stressful period of time when I started seeing Dr. Orgel. Working with him helped me not only identify the triggers that were leading to my anxiety/stress - which in turn were having negative impacts in other areas of my life - but also how to handle them in more productive ways in order to work myself out of those mindsets and situations now and in the future. While it took time (of course; nothing's going to happen overnight), I have ended up in a much better place not only from a day to day mental health perspective, but I also feel significantly better equipped to spot those triggers sooner and do what I need to do to stop myself from falling into the same type of mental/behavioral "spirals" that I would previously. I'm sincerely grateful for the time I've spent with Dr. Orgel and would highly recommend him as a provider who cares about his patients, takes the time to understand them, and treats people as their whole selves.

Dr Orgel is very gentle and accepting. He has a lot of experience and does not push meds but uses them judiciously when needed. He listens well and is not rushed.

Dr Orgel is very calm, consistent and nonjudgmental. He has a lot of experience with med managing and therapy. He’s a rare psychiatrist who spends a whole 50 minutes for each appt (no 30 minute follow ups) and doesn’t overly focus on medications. He provides therapy at each appt. When it comes to meds, he is educated and skilled and is willing to prescribe meds to support mental health but that’s not the entire focus. He is trustworthy and gentle and makes a lot of space for the patient to talk and be heard in a nonjudgmental and non-rushed environment.

Jeremy’s subtle warmth and wry humor have been invaluable to me over the years, helping me separate the real and imaginary components of my emotional struggles. He’s open to multiple perspectives but has a healthy skepticism toward psychotherapeutic approaches that offer easy answers. He’s also very clear on the benefits and limitations of medication, and has helped me see medication as complementing, not replacing, my effort to deepen my understanding of myself and the people I love.

Dr Orgel is amazing and has a big heart. He's very kind and very thorough with anything I talk to him about.
