Dr. Jeremy Wade Van Gieson, DO

Dr Van Gieson is AWESOME! He is EXTREMELY thorough and used every aspect for care BEFORE giving out a prescription. I like that!

No complaints here.

The Dr did well in taking care of minor medical occurrences. However, I had problems with him not being familiar with my test results on a few visits and had to have him read the results before we could continue. That happened on three visits. I also stated that I had difficulty breathing and shortness of breathe. He just listened to my chess and took no action over a 1 1/2 years. It was determined that I had asthma when I visited the ER when I had a negative reaction to contrast dye during some testing. I received an asthma treatment which allowed me to finally take a full breathe and was referred by the ER staff to a specialist for for further appropriate treatment. Getting referrals and having this doctor interface with my other providers was difficult. I had to request one of my specialist to actually call this doctor because he had not followed up with them on a certain medication that I needed to stop taking. I reminded this doctor on two visits. I also had problems with… prescriptions not being sent to the pharmacy, sometimes taking two or thee phone calls to finally get this situation addressed. I prefer not to have to micro manged my doctor. I believe that I gave this doctor a fair chance but after two years I find that I do not have any confidence with this doctor and have changed to a different physician.

Dr. Van Gieson seemed a little too arrogant and narcissistic to be trusted. I've seen him as a patient twice, and both experiences were less than adequate. Also, it's rare that a doctor is so obese. That makes it difficult to take any recommendations from him seriously. During the second visit, he mentioned that my low potassium is also known as hyperkalemia. I questioned him and asked, "Oh, you mean hypokalemia?" He responded with, "Are you a doctor? No!" So his confusion, along with his arrogance, is cause for concern.
