Dr. Jerold Mikszewski, MD

No explanation of what testing would be like, no way of putting me at ease (just the opposite), jumped on a quick diagnosis after seeing him for a max of 1 1/2 hour, and having a PET Scan. The worst was after the tests, he called me at home to tell me I had an incurable brain disease, and would lose my speech and mobility!! Took him weeks afterwards to send me info on who else to see to take speech classes (which I didn't need), and to enter a study. NO THANKS, I will go see another doctor for a second opinion. Talk about bedside manner...horrible.

third visit w Dr mikszewski.. has been polite, understanding, comprehensive and diligent in determining my husbands neurological conditions. spends an hour with my husband each visit..has been ordering appropriate testing. seems genuinely interested in careing for my husband.. great rapport. I would HIGHLY recommend him

Very thorough, thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, and leaves no stone left unturned in determining a diagnosis.

On our first meeting, he, not his assistant, greeted us with a smile, shook our hands and ushered us to the office. He spent an hour carefully and thoroughly testing and examining my husband. He was empathic enough to sense when he was asking too many questions of my husband, and he pulled back so my husband could reorient and calm down. He ordered tests for him with more to come, being very thorough. It's not unusual for Dr. Mikszewski to call even on his day off to help explain what we need to do next and to assist us with other matters. We both highly recommend Dr. Mikszewski to everyone we know in need of neurological help.

Dr. Mikszewski refused to prescribe the medication that he said would best treat my symptoms, "because it is an appetite stimulant and you need to lose a lot of weight." He did not bother to ask what I eat or how much of it, and he had no access to my recent bloodwork and thus, no idea of my overall health. He took one look at me and jumped to many, many incorrect conclusions - this is bad science and bad medicine. He decided to treat my weight instead of my actual problems, though I was not seeing him for my weight (and I eat small portions of plant-based foods only). He instead prescribed a medication that he said was not indicated for my symptoms - just because it was an appetite suppressant. Needless to say, it didn't work, though it DID have debilitating side effects. He did not explain his diagnosis and I had to email him later (and still had to turn to Google to get more information after that). His diagnosis, it turns out, was wildly inaccurate. The other reviewers who… have said that he is arrogant, cold, unlistening, and dehumanizing are absolutely right. I would add "dangerous" to that list. He is emblematic of that older generation of doctors with God complexes and borderline loathing for their patients. He should be avoided. P.S. His staff is just as dreadful - rude and contemptuous.

If you want an arrogant, patronizing Doctor that barely acknowledges you this is the guy for you. Moves at a slough like pace to find a solution to health problems. After 3 months he finally prescribed a medicine that helped my friend with her insignificant problem of not being able to walk. Too little too late.

The very first review was right on the money. Exact same treatment. Poor bedside manner.
