Dr. Jerome Matthew Guanciale, DO

I went for what was to be a planned surgery and Dr. Guanciale gave me all of the information with which to make an educated decision. He didn't "play God" and tell me what I should do and how amazing he would be - he advised me on pros and cons and left the decision to me. As it turned out it turned out to be a more emergent situation and he performed the surgery sooner than expected. He treated me with kindness and respect; I never felt condescended to or belittled in any way. He was professional and I felt like I was in good hands, literally, the whole time. I am new to town and had no idea what the medical care would be like; I'm happy to say I was well taken care of with Dr. Guanciale.

Most of the one star reviews are all about his bedside manner and they are right. He is arrogant, condescending and rude. Having said that he is brutally honest which is appreciated, I think he is fair in his assessments and seems very knowledgeable. I never had to wait long and always felt like was getting top level care. I will absolutely use him again if necessary and have no issues recommending him. Just know you won't get any level of warm and fuzzy from him. Millennials or anyone else who needs coddling should seek another doctor.

I was very impressed. The doctor is honest and to the point. Surgery went exceptionally well and I was treated with care, kindness and respect.. The above comments seem to be from a jilted girlfriend! Lol Do you really care what he looks like? He's a surgeon, not your personal friend!

Rude,Talked badly about other Doctors in his Health Group. When I asked where I was suppose to go in our Health Group he told me to take my business out of town. What does that say about our Health Care in our town.

Very rude, self-righteous, arrogant, carcisistic. He needs to get over himself, look in the mirror and his birth certificate and grow up. This is a true elderly man who needs to get over himself, his good looking days are definitely over. Only became a doctor to make more money, has no care for others and especially his patients. I would not even given him one start but that was the lowest choice.

This doctor is not in Myrtle Beach, not sure why he doesn't update his site. Probably because he knows he would get a lot of bad reviews. He has the worst bedside manner and I had to wait for hours, I think he was out to lunch for hours. On top of all of that, he really doesn't know what he's doing. I would not recommend him to anyone.
