Dr. Jerry Wayne Dodson

I have experience with a few mental health practitioners in various settings and found most to be lacking, but not this one. In 1984, I took my oldest daughter and the whole family unit to see Jerry Dodson for counseling, after she had been molested at the ex wife's babysitter's house. He was very astute in understanding and trying to fix this heartbreaking situation. 35 years of hindsight later, I can say he was spot on with his analysis, insights and advice. I wish he would have stayed in our community for other issues that surfaced later in her life, but it was Pocatello's loss when he moved to Texas. With no reservations, I would highly recommend him to anyone who needed expert psychiatric help. Rick Simpkins

I was under his care at the vernon state hospital,years ago when I was maybe14/15 he helped me get some of my confidence as a person bacc,was never judgemental,was very concerned with all my struggles,as well as,the other adolescents that were there under his care,he was a very knowledgeable man,i would highly recommend him

Horrible doctor, doesn't listen all he does is blow his nose and put chap stick on the whole time...makes you feel awkward to me he seemed creepy. Has a massive ego as well. I didn't like him at alllllll. I was an adult when i went maybe he is better with kids..He does have a good staff though.(or use to)

Dodson has been an awesome doctor for my family. There have been times that I had to wait for an hour BUT I know my family has taken longer in our appointment than we were suppose to. Dr. Dodson is the best doctor, he listens and he explains. It has be be almost impossible for him to tell a patient "ok, stop talking, your time is up." It's also got to be very hard to figure out how much time to schedule an appointment since he doesn't know exactly how much we need to say!

I am sick and tired of doctors with their ego and 'god-complex', they think that their time is more important than yours. They think that it is ok for them to be an hour late to an appointment, but of you are 5 minutes late, they refuse to see you.Is their time more precious than mine, when I have to leave work, drive to their office; shouldn't they be considerate to me as well? Because the truth is, these doctors are working for you. If they did not have patients, they would NOT have a job, so it would behoove them to be better doctors and better people on the whole.If we had the guts to fire these doctors, and NOT put up with their crap, then they would have no choice but to get their crap together.

He was my Dr a while ago, He saved me from me. I had been victim of horid child abuse and he helped more than he could ever know. I tried sucide and he saved me.The best man God ever made next to JC.
