Terrible communication. Complete lack of empathy.

I have been seeing Dr. Leventhal for about 2 years now and he has always been attentive, personable and knowledgeable. As a healthcare worker myself it is refreshing to have someone ping ideas off of and not just dictate your health to you. Dr. Leventhal cares deeply for his patients and he never rushes through you examination. I am very happy to have found him in Palm Coast.

Doesn't pay attention treating your condition as if he doesn't know why you are there. There is a hassle with medication renewals between his office and pharmacies.

Makes mistakes. Doesn’t listen.

I was a patient of Dr. Leventhal's for about 6 or 7 years. He was BY FAR the best Dr. I have ever had. He saw me thru many ups and downs. The best thing I found with him is that I could be totally honest with him about whatever, and he didn't judge. And, he took the time late one night to call me about some poor bloodwork and told me to go to the hospital asap, and he was calling the triage unit to be ready for me. He saved my life! I seriously have not found another Dr. that I think would do that. Since he left my area, I have been treated soooo poorly by other Dr.'s. Does anyone know the name of the clinic/office where Dr. Leventhal is currently practicing? It is worth a drive down south.

Dr. Leventhal did put me on thyroid meds because I had been dealing with hypothyroidism for years and used the same (i hate to rx meds) doc who kept telling me nothing was wrong. I appreciated that but ontop of thyroid problems, all of my hormones tanked. I suggested doing the blood work, he ordered it and then told me they were all "normal". They were not. I was in perimenopause prematurely. My symptoms were horrible. He told me I was eating too much and he didnt know why I couldnt lose weight. Turns out I needed hormone replacement of all hormones, along with thyroid meds. I'll never forget how he made me feel that day. Really stung. I found a doc willing to listen to me, got on full BIHRT and within 4 months of treatment along with diet and exercise, ive lost 30 lbs and 90% of my symptoms have disapeared. I wish he had just spent a few more minutes with me and worked on us reaching a solution vs blowing me off as lazy and unable to diet. Oh and I never waited less than 35-50… minutes PAST my appt time. They dont mind wasting your time there but will charge patients if the miss an appt. Move on.. dont waste your time and precious health here.

Dr. Leventhal was very polite, understanding, and caring. Most doctors added to my anxiety, his demeanor helped it. I have no stress going to the Dr anymore as long as it is Dr. Leventhal. He is trying me on new sleep meds and have yet to find a good one. He lowered my anxiety meds a little but and I am having a hard time with the amount currently given, but I believe with his expertise he will understand I need my original dosage. I see him again soon and look forward to it! I'm sure within a few months we will be on a perfect regimen of prescriptions for my Stress/Anxiety/Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This is one of the few doctors that care....Hard to find now a days.
