Dr. Jerry Xin Liu, MD

Dr Liu is a smart doctor that put me on the best medicine and knocked my white blood count down right out of the ball park. I was feeling much better within 2 weeks. They staff is friendly and I have never had to wait more than five minutes in the office to be cared for.

Horrible, if you want to go to a doctor who is just going to sit around and wait for you to die this is the guy for you. I usually go to the VA and have great experiences there. I did not have a great experience in the VA oncology department (first time in over 5 years I had a bad experience at the VA). The VA allowed me to go to a private provider which I was excited about only a few minutes from my home in Woodstock. I typed every form so the Doctor would have concise information. Emailed it to the receptionist and signed release forms so the doctor would have good information. The doctor had all my information. Dr. Jerry Liu looked like a deer in the headlights when I was asking questions. The VA oncologist recommended for me to start taking a drug, which will require me to get 32 teeth pulled (all of my teeth). I wanted to get a 2nd opinion for obvious reasons. He did not seem to know about the drug being recommended and wanted to wait to get my medical records and… ordered a bone scan. The VA did the bone scan right away; my primary care doctor from the VA (not oncologist) called two hours after the scan and said something are getting worse. That was last month and Liu still has not called and does not have email. After a bone scan with a cancer patient that had a negative result wouldn't the doctor call? My other doctor who is not treating me called in two hours. Here is the message emailed to be from his gate keeper. "He is going to review your bone scan results and give his recommendation. He does not have a direct email". That was about 10 days ago and I am scheduled to get my teeth pulled May 29th. No communications from this guy! Really this is unconscionable. If you call their office, they are about the most negative people in the world and were about the same in person. They should not be treating people with cancer it is already a negative experience, you do not need these people making it more negative. I now have to work the system back at the VA to find another provider and delay my treatment. I am pretty sure the VA paid a lot of money for the first appointment. This simply is not fair and people should not be treated this way. Shame on these people, they should find another way to make a living. Find another provider

Every time I saw him, I felt like I was on a conveyor belt. Asking questions about my medical history that he should know, like what type of surgery I had (mastectomy/breast cancer) because he WAS part of the same medical team. I think his main concern was to keep appointments under 12 minutes, any longer than that and he gets antsy.
