Dr. Jesse Samuel Rosenthal, MD

An old-school misogynist-- contemptuous and contemptible. Worse than ineffective, Dr. Rosenthal's overrated and overpriced interventions are actually harmful to women.

Dr. Rosenthal is a caring and talented doctor. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable, reachable and kind. If you are lucky enough to be his patient, he will not quit until he finds something that will help you. I have been to other psychiatrists, some of them excellent,

Rosenthal gave me psychotropic drugs for schizophrenics when I had a case of depression that should have been treated with much less, and eventually was by a proper psychiatrist. This was around 1980. He was utterly immoral. Would talk to patients about the real estate investments he and his wife were making. Would have ten-minute sessions during which he wrote some prescriptions and sent you on your way. His office was like a drugstore. The drugs he gave me affected my hypothalamus, my thyroid, my liver and kidneys. I discovered this some years later. When a drug didn't work to cure his misdiagnosis (how could it?), he gave you another drug, and then another drug to counter that. I got out of there, lucky to have my health intact. Stay away from this guy. He has no empathy. He charges huge fees and is literally just in it for the money. One day he let slip as much when discussing another patient (very unprofessional) who he didn't like. "Corrupt" is not too strong a word. He was… playing with people's health and their mental stability. I cannot believe he is still practicing medicine and has not been sued and put out of business. Because he was a business, plain and simple.

A horrific experience. Exacerbated my family issues instead of providing any benefit to me whatsoever. Dr. Jesse Rosenthal is the sort of practitioner who cares more for what is convenient for him, not what is best for his clients. Overall a contemptuous, incompetent and obscenely overrated healthcare provider.

Lied and said his practice was full which is not what he secretary said. I guess he thought my job wasn’t fancy enough for him. and so I’m deemed to remain sick. . Maybe if I wasn’t chronically depressed I would have a more fancy job. Then he just referred me to two people who weren’t in private practice one in which I couldn’t see because my mom had already seen him. He kept making excuses when I told him that his secretary said he was taking on new patients and even gave me the rates per appointment. How morally bankrupt does a doctor have to be that he deems who lives and who dies?

After reading the reviews about Dr. Rosenthal, I was excited to set up and appt as he's close and well reputed. His receptionist informed me he does not accept any form of insurance which is crazy! Essentially, your mental health is only worth his time if you have $650 to drop per appointment.

Genius with meds -- there's no one better. Exceptionally smart, helpful, available, engaged. Makes patients believe they will get better.

Dr. Rosenthal was degrading. He made me feel small, like nothing. After an initial consultation he decided my case was not important enough for him to be dealing with and decided to pawn me off to someone else because he was "too busy". Wow, the health care industry has really declined lately and Dr. Rosenthal is part of the problem. No one cares about anything or anyone, just money. Dr. Rosenthal did not care enough about me. I'm busy too. You want busy? I work 12 hours days every day and barely get to enjoy any free time because of my depression. Not Dr. Rosenthal's problem! See: Timothy's Law

I could not recommend Dr. Rosenthal any higher. I was EXTREMELY nervous going into this process. I have mental illness in my family and have seen pretty severe crashes, so the idea of taking meds was very scarey. I was previously seeing another psychiatrist, but I didn't feel like my treatment was thorough enough. Dr. Rosenthal was very thorough, truly took the time to diagnose me, and REALLY held my hand through the process of finding my dosage. Frequent phone calls to check in, and even called me to make sure my prescription was filled before he was out of town for the holiday. This is the type of care that I wish every doctor had. Extremely courteous lady at the front desk as well. Wait time was minimal. I'd wait forever to see him though! If there is a wait, I know it's because he's taking his time with whoever is ahead of me. Go to this man!
