Summary
Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I have always enjoyed helping others. I had a family member who was a nurse and that inspired my decision to become a nurse. I was a nurse for 10 years before I decided to go back to school for nurse practitioner. During this time I cared for a lot of patients and enjoyed every minute of it. I decided to become a nurse practitioner because I wanted to be more involved with my patients care. I wanted to do more. What I want my patients to know about me:I enjoy taking care of families. It is always enjoyable to take care of children, their parents and at times their grandparents. I encourage all my patients to take part in their care. I feel it is important they understand what is going on and be involved in the decisions being made with regards to their care. I try to be very transparent with my patients about their care.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I love spending time with my family. My children are all in sports, so we are …always running to an event. When the sports are not in session, I enjoy spending time by the pool. My family loves the beach, so we try to spend as much time there as we can.
