Dr. Jessica Kaiser Mendelsohn, MD

This was my unpleasant experience: I was referred to Dr. Jessica Mendhelson from a holistic MD and was told she is open-minded. I was excited to start receiving care under her UNTIL I was bullied and completely denied service for simply INQUIRING about a medical exemption for masks per the governor's executive order of NC (where I am from; but also SC where she is located). Let me explain, I have ashma and mask wearing causes me to have a severe reaction & pass out. I also have 3 other autoimmune diseases PLUS childhood trauma that causes extreme anxiety being harrassed and forced to cover my mouth & nose. I took a day off work, drove an HOUR on the day of my appointment, and arrived 30 minutes early. I politely called while waiting in my car to ask what their procedure was for helping someone like me make my visit more comfortable. I was told they were completely UNAWARE of this part of the executive order and Jessica Mendhelson the doctor got on the phone and outright BULLIED,… abused, and gaslighted me showing totally UNPROFESSIONAL behavior.

I've been going to Carmel Family for over 20 years and, as happy as I have been with JUST ABOUT every doctor there, I have found my "forever" doctor in Dr Kaiser. She is kind, helpful, patient, caring, understanding, listens, and works together with me as a team, instead of as a doctor & a patient. As a matter of fact, I've been seeing her for 5 years now! My toddler has been seeing her since he was 2 weeks old & my grandmother, who moved here from out of state sees her as well. She is the MOST awesome!
