Dr. Jesus Herrera Lao, MD

Had been paying out of pocket $90.00 per visit for a year, and when I got IEHP I got a referral from my assigned Dr. and they pushed it through in 1 day. BUT, upon arriving for my scheduled appointment Dr. Lao's front office refused to see me because they scheduled me to go to the Hemet office. I am 15 minutes from Murrieta and 45 from Hemet - WHY WOULD I EVEN CONTEMPLATE GOING THERE... Also Dr. Lao according to the Dr.'s website does not even go to the Hemet office. My assigned Dr.'s office is working on trying to find another Pain Mgmt. Dr. in the area because they agree that this was unforgivable and besides that the Dr.'s office was completely empty when I walked in. They could have offered to see me, but instead actually had the gaul to ask IFIi WANTED TO RESCHEDULE.

First they are in the middle ages, you must provide cash for co payments. When you call they put you on hold for no less than 30 minutes and often drop the call and never return call, promise I'll call you back in 5 minutes, that is their biggest lie, never happens. The Dr forgot he ever saw me and though I had questions cut me off, 2 minutes is the maximum. My prescriptions ran out and I had no calls returned, tried to leave a message that I need a refill and on what, they wouldn't take the message. I showed up for a procedure and they forgot to include me, I gave up 2 days of work and there was no record of my appt. I tried to call the day before but they never called back to confirm nor would they confirm on my call, put me on hold then said they would call back and never did. The front office is rude and condescending, but why not, the patients are treated like prison inmates and get poor care, the operating room nurses are nice but getting there is a trial, I still haven't had… my follow up injection. They wont return my calls to schedule the appointment. If there was less than one star I'd give it. Once they were running an hour late and wouldn't take me in because I was 15 minutes late, what difference did it make I said when you were an hour late, had I been on time I'd still be waiting anyway. Idiots! I was sent away anyway that WAS the office manager, a regular nurse Cratchett in that madhouse.

Dr. Lao is competent if perfunctory. Office is mismanaged and staffed unprofessionally.

The doctor ordered xrays which I had taken the same day. I called for weeks for follow up and never got anywhere with the staff. Finally got an appointment but I was refused service because I did not have the "cash" co-pay on hand even though I did offer my ATM and credit card. I decided that in 2011 this was not appropriate service and I won't be returning.
