Within 3 weeks of my initial contact with Dr. Jian Shen, I was in minimal evasive spine surgery on Sept. 16, 2022 at St. Mary's as an outpatient basis in Amsterdam. After a couple of hours he miraculously removed a large 2 cm fragmented piece wrapped around the nerve posterior of my L4-5 degenerative disc and corrected spinal stenosis. My procedure required a second 2 set of navigational tools. After recovery the surgical nurse shared she made a joke, that I had the vertebrae that keeps on giving! No need to read any more reviews, he's done 5K procedures, and is ranked as the best out of 100 other doctors. I was so impressed from our Zoom call & his staff, I traveled from FLL to Albany via a wheelchair on drugs to mask excruciating pain. I suffered for 7 weeks with neuropathy pain crawling from recliner to the bathroom, to bed lying in a fetal position. I'm now walking unassisted! Don't suffer needlessly, call now! Dr.Juan Shen is a brilliant and unique surgeon ! I just had C5-C7 foraminal endoscopic surgery and starting a new life after so many years of struggling with foraminal stenosis. Dr.Shen one of very few surgeons in the country who perform this innovative cervical endoscopic surgery. Dr. Shen is extremely caring, compassionate and competent. He has a great personality and takes all the time needed to explain and support.

I have been very impressed with the care and concerns from Dr. Shen. He called me 4 days after my surgery on a Sunday evening. Ask how I was doing . That is going above and beyond for taking his own personal time to check in,. I had some other questions and called the after surgery contact person and was treated like I was the only patient they had. Thank You Dr Shen and staff .

My first visit went better than I could have hoped . Dr listened, Dr understood and Dr Shen gave me the first real hope since 1992 of being Pain free. I will give another rating after the surgery just wanted to express my satisfaction with a dr who cares enough to show me my problems on xray and mri, explain them and treatment my issues.

I had a spinal fusion 5 yrs ago done by Dr shen. After my first follow up with him I was a nobody and just was pushed off to the np even though was having problems after surgery. Now I find out 2 screws broke in my back and caused severe pain and had me in the hospital twice already due to the pain. I call to tell them what happened and once again pushed off onto the np not the dr.

Dr shen is dr Frankenstein Don’t ever let him do surgery on you he will destroy your back I had a lumbar fusion done on dec of 2017 and after 5. Months I was have complications And I’m a lot of pain I called him once and he called me back to tell me to stop harassing him can you believe he said to me he portrayed Me a a drug seeker so he can get rid of me please don’t ever use him I beg you not to use him
