Dr. Jimmy Dy Chua, MD

My first visit with Dr Jimmy Chua. Excellent Doctor. Conducted a very thorough examination, referred me to the appropriate clinics, and requested a follow up appointment. He came prepared to the appointment by reading my extensive 45 years of medical history. He gets my BIG recommendation.

More of a generalist about infectious Disease. I’ve had HIV for 30 years and he is by far the worst and least informed doctor on one of the largest sectors of infectious disease. Rude, short, and just pushes pills. I moved to a different Dr and network after 2 visits.

I suggest anyone referred to this man find a different doctor.. will not explain anything,I was told that he doesnt have time to answer questions. Offense,rude and in my opinion a large wast of time. I will now need to find a doctor that can read and maybe understand the results of the blood tests that were performed. I should have listened to the warnings. To all reading this I would say read the other reviews on this man and go to a different doctor.

very thorough and accurate diagnosis

I hope that I am never referred to an Infectious Disease Specialist in this area again, as this was the worst experience I've ever had in my nearly 60 years. I had a case of â??Cellulitisâ?? (at least that's the way it appeared to my PCP) due to some immune difficulties that I have my Rheumatologist (who is located in Kirkland, WA) â??Directed" me to see an I.D.S. He was extremely concerned about how this would impact me and my already compromised immune system. I immediately called my PCP, who was out of her office at that time. I did manage to get a referral to Dr Chua which was sent that afternoon. I attended an appt with my PCP the next day and she asked her staff to expedite the referral to Dr Chua, she then gave me a copy of the referral and the phone # to reach the Dr and get an appt. I went home and called Dr Chua's office and was told the referral had reached their office and that it would be reviewed by the nurse and I would be called to set up an appointment… accordingly. Knowing that I had already been ill for 15 days with no sign of healing I felt I would be scheduled to see Dr Chua within a few days. After 5 business days and a weekend I called back and was told that the person who makes the appointments had gotten the referral from the nurse 3 days earlier but had an emergency and had to leave the office. I was then told that the same staff person (who was the same person who answered this call and also my first call) had come back the day before I called (the day after receipt of the referral from the nurse) but had not had time to call me and she began to apologize profusely, I explained that I felt that she didn't need to apologize; I felt if she wasn't in the office someone else in the office had dropped the ball by not making the call for her. I had this infection at this point for 24 days although it did finally begin the Healing process at 22 days and as of the time of this call there really wasn't a lot left to diagnose. At this point I am hoping that the hard lumps on my ankles and the redness that has finally been reduced to 1/2 the size of what it was will dissipate, as did the inflammation that caused my foot to swell to twice its normal size and actually had gotten so bad that I woke up on the 4th day to find the remains of a popped blister on my leg. I still have some pain, but after the way my case has been handled I will not be seeking any further care at that clinic/office. If I have to travel to Seattle or Spokane I will do that, but I will not entrust my medical care to a Dr who is either unaware that his office staff does not back each other up or possibly doesn't care how the office is run. I am sad to report that at this point there is no viable solution to this problem. In short if you acquire an illness for which you need to see an infectious disease specialist I would recommend you find someone out of the 99336 area.

Dr Chua dies not seem to use his imagination in the treatment of infectuous disese. He is reluctant to send a culture to a lab to see what antibiotic is effective. He likes to stay with the same product even though it is obvious that it is not working
