Dr. Jo Hansen has been an orthodontic specialist since 1990. She earned her dental degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1986, and her graduate degree in orthodontics from the University of Detroit in 1989. In addition, she completed a general practice residency at the Leavenworth Veteran’s Administration Hospital and an orthodontic residency at the University of Detroit.
Dr. Hansen is Board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Board of Orthodontics College of Diplomates. She is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwest Society of Orthodontists, Missouri Association of Orthodontists, Greater Kansas City Society of Orthodontists and the Eastern Jackson County Dental Health Group.
When she is not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Hansen enjoys singing and playing piano. Before becoming an orthodontist, she taught piano and has been taking lessons herself since she was in the 3rd grade. She is …currently a choir liaison for music parents at a local high school.
She also enjoys attending ice hockey and Chiefs football games, reading, and doing charitable work with her church. She has been happily married since 1979 and is blessed with two very talented sons.
