Dr. Joan S Crawford, DO

This doctor took time and effort to explain the tests that she wanted performed and the reasons that she was having me do them. She answered questions thoroughly and in a way that I could understand. I didn't walk away feeling as if I'd been brushed off which is how I've felt with many other doctors in the past. I would suggest this doctor for cardiac related patients.

My husband has been a patient with Dr Crawford with a life long rhythm disorder. Words cannot describe Dr. Crawford's persistence, determination, and skill in treating him for many years. The office is juggling a huge number of patients and Dr. Crawford's personal style requires time with each patient.

Dr. Crawford dictates - she will not ask or answer questions. Her manner is gruff, condescending and she does not view the patient as a whole person, only looks at their cardiac issues. The last straw for me was when she prescribed a drug that was red-flagged by my pharmacy and neurologist: "Do not take if you have a seizure disorder". I asked her to look for an alternative medcation and she refused. My internist said she had another patient, an 80+ year old man reduced to tears over a similar situation, insisting he take a med that would adversely affect another medical condition he had. She recommended another woman for bariatric surgery even though the woman would have to gain over 60lb. to even be considered for the procedure. Definitely bad news....
