Dr. Joan Frances P Wright, MD

Someone made a very negative remark about Dr. Joan Wright being a very rude Doctor, this is simply untrue. Dr. Wright was the doctor that treated and gave me surgery in both hands in 1997, she has never been rude, she spent to quality time explaining what was going on with me, my surgeries were successful. I haven’t seen her in some years but she’s the best hand surgeon in Los Angeles and always had a good attitude with me as her patient, miss her very much. Glenda Dunn Blackburn.

I have been put in mind of Dr. Wright over the past month, as I deal with a completely different medical matter. I have some very serious medical challenges I am dealing with, & while the service I have been receiving has been adequate, I have so often thought about Dr. Wright, who was my surgeon 26 years ago. Not only did she save my hand & work miracles that allowed me to NOT have a wrist fusion, but under her care I think I found one of two of the the best healing practitioners of my life. In all honesty, the reason I was put in remembrance of her now, is that while I am getting adequate care, those I have been dealing with demonstrate no real concern for me as an individual, I'm just faceless, random patient in a never ending stream of patients for them. What a striking difference... The example Dr. Wright gave me of what it means to be a healer & to help someone else in a time of great need, a time where the problem is not anything I have any knowledge of or ability to help… myself with, has left an impression on my heart that I will carry always... As I am thinking of her today, in a lot of pain, with several months of this to come, I just want to tell her thank you, for being such an incredible human being & for your passion to heal, help, & comfort the afflicted. God be with you, to strengthen your hands & inspire your heart, as you pursue a perfection of the gift you were given. I believe you are living 100% within that which the Creator had in mind when He gave you life & it is an awesome thing to be served by someone living & loving that which they were born to do... Waited over an hour for our appointment with Dr Wright. Her staff was extremely rude when I mentioned that we had been waiting for so long. It's hard enough to keep a three year old child busy for 20 minutes, let alone 60. When Dr Wright finally made an appearance she was rude and arrogant. She spent 10 minutes with my son and said to speak with her assistant about scheduling surgery. After waiting another 20 minutes I asked the nurse to just have the assistant call me. I was once again given attitude and told that I need to stay if I want to schedule surgery. I decided to not schedule and will find another office that is more professional.

I need a doctor who will talk to me not down to me, and who is willing both to explain and to listen. Dr. Wright does this. She is very intelligent and she is tolerant and willing to work with me as to my preferences for more natural and less invasive ways to deal with health problems. I believe that the only person who is really responsible for my health and well-being is myself. In my opinion, trust is earned, not owed, and it takes time and observation to determine whether one can trust another person, on either the basis of business relations, or the basis of personal relations. Over the past few years Dr. Wright has demonstrated a number of actions in her care and communications with me which build trust in both her professional skills and her character as an individual.

She is really sweet you could tell she likes doing her job and cares for the patient.

Dr. Wright is the most caring, wonderful doctor I have ever known. Her medical expertise in hand and foot surgery is unsurpassed.
