Incredible pain never experienced with past Epidurals. What went wrong??

Incredible pain with epidural!

This so called Dr was horrible she walked in the room in a hurry seemed upset and continued to ask what was wrong with me when i tried to explain she would interrupt me she was so rude and cold. She continued to say that she doest give narcotics....why was she saying that I have no clue because I kept telling her I didnt want meds I wanted like a therapy or something like that. She is horrible I'd rather die in pain than to go back that lady that should not be allowed to practice!!! All of these positive reviews are more than likely her or her own friends and family putting them because I highly doubt this lady has any manner at all. I truly hated her. Please people don't go to her you will regret it.

JoAnna Barclay is aggressive does not answer questions and doesn’t care about what patients can afford. She has a very pushy bedside manner if you have questions about medicines or procedures she takes it as personal attack and doesn’t hesitate to verbally “let you have it”. You are in pain, have been given some IV pain relief in the ER and she comes at you like a storm. She does not have a very good reputation with the physiotherapists in the area. Stay away get home and see a real pain management doctor. She and her partner are the only pain management doctors contracted with Advocate Sherman hospital in Elgin. People when you are in pain and have been given IV pain medication you should not be forced to make decisions by an aggressive doctor by yourself AND not knowing side effects, results, other options having every question answered until you are comfortable. This happened to me earlier this spring and I am still in disbelief. You are ultimately responsible for your… health. Never feel pressured or talked into something that may not be right for you. PS the treatment she wanted to do was at the bottom of my options list I had several options to choose from.

I found this doctor to have a highly toxic personality. She was rude had no bedside manner's or compassion toward the pain I was experiencing. She basically told me that all the pain I was experiencing was psychological and not warranted based on the MRI findings. I've had four prior back operations a lumbar and cervical fusion and have spinal stenosis. Do not waste your time with this one.

She spent about10 min with me. I didn't feel she has an understanding of my pain or condition. I left with no answers or discussion of treatment plan.Have test Schedule will see her again for results. Doubt I'll be continuing with. Looking for other Dr. Bad experience start to finish.

Dr. Barclay is my Angel here on earth! Eases my pain, what more could a person ask!

Dr. Barclay helped me with my back pain. Now I can drive much better with my golf game.
