Dr. Joanna Hoang Nguyen, MD

Literally the worst experience ever. Just listing the two out of many inconveniences I faced here. 1)I scheduled a visit to show a patchy area in my beard. I had met all my deductibles for this year. Hence I was expecting to pay nothing for the visit. I mentioned the same to the receptionist, she insisted that, their office collects the fees upfront, and I would have to collect refund later from my insurance. I thought, OK this is a very inconvenient and old school system for any patients. I was charged $117. I called My insurance few days later, but to my surprise, they told me that the doctor's office had collected $117 from the insurance as well, and shouldn't have paid anything in the first place. After this i had called Doctor's office multiple times , and they said they will check with insurance and get back to me every time. On the 4th call to doctor's office, they said, it's already been a month, and they can not process my refund. Then they gave a number to contact to , which… doesn't even EXIST... 2) Oh about the visit to doctor's office... Doctor's assistant checked up on me. She told me she will have to google the medicine for my skin issue. Seriously, Google ? And the worst thing is they didn't even revert back to me, even after calling them back to follow up on it. I was given a list a totally unrelated laboratory tests to be done though. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this place

Dr. Nguyen's office is like a cattle farm. I originally went to her because I wanted a doctor that I could see and that was close. She is hardly ever available at her office. She delegates most of her appointments to her subordinates. I was scheduled for a full hip replacement and was a 10 on the scale of 10 being the worse pain for arthritis and she refused to give me a prescription for Norco so I could walk at work while I waited for my surgery date. She was more concerned about getting in trouble for prescribing an opiate than my pain. I have never experienced so much pain in my life. I will be shopping for a new doctor ASAP!

Cares more about the insurance company than the patient. No compassion.

I have been a patient for about a year but no longer. Diagnosed with lung disease due to constant coughing which has worsened. Also advised that air travel is a problem. Due to my condition I asked her assistant to have the doctor issue my a note excusing me from a 19 hour each way flight to Europe. When I left the message no one called me back and I had to call again the next day only to be told that she would not do the note. Now I am out $4000 coupled with a rather rude and abrupt staff of hers. The doctor never even had the courtesy to talk to me the patient directly. I have cancelled my appointment for next week and am seeking a more professional and understanding physician.

The office staff are very nice and courteous. Easy getting an appointment. She doesn't seem to be very confident in the health issues that I have. I smoke and everytime I go in she complains about it because she has asthma or allergies. I have never had that to me before and I'm tired of it. I don't mind telling me I should quit, but not telling me I stink and trying to stay away from me. Maybe she is in the wrong line of work, or wear a mask. That is just rude to me. I will be looking for a new physician with more experience.

Dr. Joanna Ngyuen is an exceptional doctor with excellent bedside manner. Prior to coming to her, I was giving up on doctors. No doctor has spent time with me like Dr. Ngyuen has. She listens to my concerns and genuinely shows an interest in my health. I admit I have a lot of medical problems, but it is not fair and unethical when doctors ignore what I say. I love how Dr. Ngyuen explains everything to me in plain simple English instead of throwing out fancy medical terms that can confuse me more. Her nurses are great too. They are all very courteous and get things done in a timely manner.
