Dr. Jocelyn Elaine Hewitt, MD

From the moment I met this dr. She has been amazing and has taken wonderful care of me and my diabetes and my thyroid issues. She shows true lo e and concern.

Seriously began problems when starting to use her, wish that I had not. She refuses to work with multiple meds - for patients who have problems for many years. After taking great amounts of medicine, health issues continuing in the body - and stopping seeing an end I completely and now seeing only a GP who listened to my request of Armour and now my levels are great - have I actually had any relief.

She was very informative and her staff explained everything to me and was really really friendly. Love this office staff and Dr Hewitt.

I suffer from: Hair loss, weight gain, low energy, joint pain, difficulty in swallowing due to enlarged thyroid gland, brittle nails, thinning hair, the list goes on.... thyroid gland calcifying in my neck but this doctor says there are no noticeable nodules via ultrasound yet diagnosed with poly nodules via MRI not more then a year ago. No small needle byopsy done or ordered because my tsh was considered normal. Am I missing something or is this dismissive.... I am at a complete loss for words on how problematic this is to a patient who is suffering to live a quality of life not just exist.

Saw her after moving to south Alabama. Was diagnosed with hashimotos 3 years ago by surgeon who did multiple biopsies over a 3 year period on a thyroid nodule. All biopsies performed by the surgeon showed hashimotos. Dr Hewitt said you don't diagnose hashimoto by biopsy, but by lab work ( thyroid antibodies and thyroid function tests), and since my lab work was normal, didn't have hashimotos. She claims my extreme fatigue, joint pain, hair loss, swelling etc is from being menapausal, although she checked my hormone levels and they were normal!! I guess to her, being menapausal is also why my thyroid is enlarged!! If she had been familar or knowledgeable about hashimotos, then she would know you can diagnose hashimotos by biopsy and you can have hashimotos and test negative for thyroid antibodys. Nice doctor, but really doesn't know what she is talking about!

Was absolutely a waste of time. I came with true concerns and ended up getting lectured on my weight and how I need to stop adding food to my mouth. First of all she had no idea about my life since she was determined to let me know what a overweight person I was to her. Second if she would have had the nerve to listen then maybe just MAYBE she would have been an actual doctor to help people before going off on her tangent.

Dr Hewitt was my 3rd opinion. She was the only one who listened to me when I knew something was wrong. She is the only one who dug a little deeper until we figured out my problem. We started treating my condition right away and I've had fantastic results. She is who I run to for any problem now, whether endocrinology or not; I trust her! She is very educated, yet not arrogant. She explains everything in detail, but on a level anyone can understand.

I had some complaints while using my thyroid medicine. She offered no alternatives or reasonable explanation. I switched from generic to name brand on my own after research on the internet said that generic used fillers that could cause problems. I am looking into thyroid armour also. None of these were brought up by Dr. Hewitt as alternatives. I will change doctors.

I felt very comfortable with DR Hewitt and she was very knowledgeable.

she has helped me so much to get my A1C's to levels they have never been before and they are staying at these levels now for a year.
