Dr. Joe Ben Flores, MD

I saw doctor Flores over a period of 10 years for a complex personality based disorder. Simply put he saved my life and helped me learn the tools to go on to a fulfilling and much less stressful life. He is both compassionate and brilliant. I can not say enough wonderful things about his caring and spot on treatment.

Having Joe Flores as my "psychiatrist" has been one of the most bewildering and damaging experiences of my life. He should have his credentials and qualifications taken away permanently. He doesn't practice medicine in any true sense.

My experience with Dr. Flores has made my health far worse, not better. He's harmed me, not healed or helped me. He's drained me of my sanity. He places dollars and lies before medicine and truth. His business model is sickening. Stay away.

Dr. Flores insulted me during our session and I think he deliberately tried to scare me for enjoyment, though obviously I can't be sure about that. Overall he was far from helpful.

I saw Dr. Flores yesterday. There was no wait at all. He spent well over an hour with me and reviewed my whole history and then provided me with both medication and advice. I cannot say enough good things about him.

Dr. Flores has treated me for the past 7 years. I would not be alive today if I hadn't met him. He has been my rock through the most difficult circumstances of my life, continued to treat me when I had no money to pay him for a long period of time, has returned every last middle-of-the-night page, and with brilliance and grace and given me exactly what I needed and has changed with me as I've grown in the context of our work. I ended a serious drug addiction, separated from an abusive husband, went back to school to finish my degree, and became the mother I never had to my own child, under his guidance. Anyone leaving reviews after one or two meetings with Dr. Flores doesn't have the right to leave an opinion because it is not an accurate representation of his skill. Dr. Flores saved my life.

I met him via a colleague..spent 45 minutes chatting and ended up with a a bill of $475/hr he never mentioned.. way beyond anyone else in field. I called to ask and was told "well.. I can get $250 per half hour" so "475" is a discount

This psychiatrist is condescending, controlling, uncaring, and downright mean. I've never written a review for a doctor of any kind in my life and have generally been satisfied with all of my health care including mental health care. I have no idea how someone with this type of demeanor ended up in this profession. I was frankly shocked by his behavior.
