Dr. Joe Lynn Smothers, DO

I saw Dr. Smothers in college and I felt like I was dying. I asked him to test me for mono, but he assured me it was something else, prescribed me a z-pack, and sent me in my way. I got worse, sweating chills, swollen lymph nodes, had to drive back only to be told again that I did not have mono after I asked him to check me again, prescribed me something else, sent me home. Living by myself with mono for 2 weeks was scary. Finally, went to see him a third time after second misprescribed medicine was done, and demanded he test me for mono. I was jaundiced, so weak I had to call a friend to drive me, had fevers of 100+ degrees for almost 2 weeks, and my joints aches so badly I thought about admitting myself to the hospital. At the THIRD visit, he ordered a mono test FINALLY, and what do you know? I had mono. No apology, no listening, mansplaining of symptoms of the disease he said I had, and malpractice.
