Dr. Joe Kok-Yau Wong, MD

The very worst I have ever had should not be allowed to practice !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful bedside manner and I would go back to him in a heartbeat! (Ha see what I did there ;) He will save your life. My family has been going to and has known Dr. Wong for over 40 years. I trust him completely.

Dr. Wong is the absolute most unprofessional, disgraceful and disrespectful man in the medical field by far. Words can not even describe the rude, truly horrific and shameful doctor this man is. The patient and I had been visiting Dr. Wong for years, and the moment a medical emergency came up Dr. Wong snapped into a complete monster. I was trying to receive help for the patient I was with and Dr. Wong handled the situation by screaming and yelling at me, as well as putting his assistant on the phone to scream at me as well. I am not exaggerating when I use the word "scream and yell." The two of them did not let me speak for one second as they repeatedly screamed at me using harsh langue to such an extent I left physically shaking and in tears. I couldn't believe what had just happened, it was the most absurd and disrespectful encounter I have ever had in my entire life. It is a mystery to me how such a heartless, selfish and terrible person could still have anyone left. He is selfish… beyond words and a true disgrace to the medical field. I have left his care with so much sadness for him, someone who has such a mean and spiteful heart needs some serious help.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. He pushed a hospice company on a patient without discussing or explaination. He shouted across the patient where other patiente and nurses could hear which was extremely traumatic for everyone. Regardless of his experience in health care, his bedside manner is horrible and his personality is even worse. Shouting in a hospital is completely unacceptable. He is the most authoritative, mean, and unprofessional doctor I have ever met. It’s either his way or the highway.

I have seen Dr. Wong for a few years now. He is very kind and listens well. Recently my presciption was out but Dr. Wond was out of town. Dr Wong called from out of town to make sure my prescription was refilled and followed up with me to make sure I did receive my prescription.

I've dealt with him twice. the first time he was my mom's dr. at mission hospital. He was difficult to understand, not that great at communicating, but nice and funny. We ended up taking my mom home against dr.'s orders - she had caught the flu in there, and once she was home she started getting better right away.This last time he was my dad's dr. He was gruff, kind of mean, and wouldn't listen to our concerns. He interrupted us and acted like we (my mom and i) were unintelligent, uncaring, absentee relatives who had no idea what was best for my dad. I was pretty shocked. He had no recollection of my mom or me from the last time - which is understandable I guess - but the difference in his demeanor & attitude was disappointing. I really felt like i wanted another dr.

Dr. Wong treated me during a bad bout of pneumonia. He was very kind, gave me a lot of attention, followed up with me after I was released from the hospital. He really personalized my daily visits. I looked forward to him checking up on me. He is part of a great team at Laguna Beach Mission Hospital.

wow. i thought i was on candid camera. this guy came in angry, and was curt, abusive and belittling the entire time. he finally started shouting at me for trying to explain something that he had cut me off about, and said he couldn't be my doctor if i was going to change subjects. i thought he was joking. it was so bizarre. then he told me he didn't my money and to get out. i mean, i get along with everyone, and i'm still not sure why he was so angry, but if you're looking for warm and fuzzy, this guy sure ain't it.
