Seen for low back pain with numbness and tingling in legs. No neurological exam done (ie: strength testing, reflexes), just ordered a high dollar MRI...more $$ for Beaumont. Felt like I was playing Jeopardy and the category was "Vague Answers" because he was FULL of them. Spent 10 hrs in ER and left not knowing any more than when I arrived. Unfortunately he's an ER doctor so you don't have a choice but I'd ask for an attending if you are unfortunately assigned to him. Will never go back to Beaumont ER unless arterial blood is spurting from me!

ER doctors Ascher & Gentzweiger are a nightmare for both the patient and her family. Those two and some of their staff are clearly in the medical field for the money and praise, not because they "care" about healing an ill patient. Beaumont Hospital administration and press staff should go undercover and visit Royal Oak's ER, specifically doctors Ascher & Gentzweiger and staff, before running any more of their current radio and TV ads that claim loved ones are in great hands with a "Beaumont doctor." If the way they "cared" for our ill infant granddaughter is representative of a typical "Beaumont doctor," then families should expect an arrogant and indifferent bedside manner while their loved ones are being treated medically. A caring bedside manner can be an important part of healing for the patient and a wonderful reassurance for the family. These Beaumont doctors are only clinical, sterile, and cold--which makes the patient more scared and causes the family to have little faith… in the treatment.
