Lacks knowledge of cutting edge science (but claims supreme knowledge and expertise). Rejects chiropractors and Integrative Medicine Practitioners as "frauds". Egotistical and demanding of patients' worship (be prepared to be target of his anger if not forthcoming). Dr.'s Hecht's not all together there.

Dr. Hecht treated me for over 5 years. I found him to be very knowledgeable and involved his field. Even though he is very busy, he is patient and will spend the right amount of time with you because you will have a lot of questions and concerns. Invariably, cancer is a scary diagnosis with no guarantees, and I urge you to do your own research, get a second opinion and then choose the doctor or facility according to your gut feeling. He is a caring compassionate doctor who is brilliant in his field on oncology. Takes his time, listens and explains your individual situation.

I thoroughly agree with all of the one star reviews. My better half recently passed from cancer at the age of 46. Unfortunately, Dr. Hecht was the resident on call while we were there, and our oncologist was out of the country. It seems like he did everything the opposite of what we were told would be done, and quite honestly, always seemed like he was on another planet. My love is in a better place right now, I believe that, but I am left with the constant thoughts of whether she was treated properly under his care or not. If you have other options, exercise them.

If you have a cancer, stay away from this doctor. You are going to die with his careless and mis-diagnosis.

I survived colon cancer because of Dr. Hecht. Plain and simple. So really any bedside manner or speed of wait was irrelevant. It was about saving my life. And if you read this Dr. Hecht, I hope it warms your heart because you helped keep mine ticking. And to anyone looking for a specialist in colon cancer, be grateful to get an appointment and wait an hour if necessary.

I'm a cancer patient of Dr. Hecht's as well as a seasoned RN. I can say unequivocably that this guy is the BEST doctor I've come across in all my years of nursing. He's a walking encyclopedia and highly involved in oncological research. He's thorough, conscientious, and TRULY cares about the well-being of his patients. He's extremely personable, communicative, and takes the time to thoroughly answer your questions. Most importantly, he's an OUTSTANDING doctor! If you end up having to wait over an hour in his office to see him, he's well worth the wait! I have nothing but praises for this guy and am grateful to have him for my doctor!

We found another Doctor and we are not sorry!!! With doctor Hecht we always had to wait , gave us the feeling that our mother have leaved already to long, so what the complains. The new doctor is wonderful!!!!
