Dr. Joel Alan Holiner, MD

Real doctors want to see patients. NP's and PA's were never intended to replace doctors.Joel knows that. I would like to know how few minutes he has spent with patients after finishing residency.

We have been patients of the Holiner Clinic for 2 1/2 years. We have been making payments on a low balance which was down to $114.00 when they flagged my sons account. Let him run out of meds and wouldn't let him see the doctor because we missed a payment. I checked my receipts and we haven't missed payment. So where was my money going?? I went through 4 days of calling non-stop finally spoke with the Billing manager who found that our payment hadn't posted due to being incorrectly put in system. Them she cleared flags and we were immediately ok to set appt for the next day. I found this completely ridiculous!!! They are obviously there for the money, and the amount of visits they have had him going to is ridiculous. They do not care about my child's mental health and basically had a sorry about your bad luck attitude. Needless to say this whole situation was uncalled for and now way to treat a patient. We have to continue to see the Dr. here to refill my sons meds, but I am already… looking for another Psychiatrist.

Holiner has been caught for Medicare fraud and is still doing it.

Sadly, Dr. Holiness is akin to so many practitioners, not really doctors in the truest sense, in that he works for himself and solely for his own benefit. All else flows from this central concept.

I am a physician myself and in a related, though not identical field. I was really rather shocked to find someone so ignorant and unethical anywhere in this field. Usually people like that don’t go in to psychiatry. Dr. Holiner had no interest in my considerable problems, spent a tiny amount of time with me, and appeared to be only concerned about racking up as many appts as possible for the presumably not very generous fees paid by Medicare. He was willing to be dishonest if he needed to be to increase the number of visits with him that were required. Frankly, I was shocked st his behavior.

Dr and whole office have the attitude that your a piece of trash getting in their way. They are better than you in every way; just ask them. You are not there because you need help, you are there to be judged and shell out money. They probably take whatever you tell them and laugh about it behind our backs.

Yesterday I got a bill for $50 for a "missed appointment" that I never made. I was in his office for an appointment the week prior and following the fictitious appointment and it was never on my scrupulously maintained calendar. All Holiner cares about is money and getting you in as often as possible for "med management." He rarely sees his patients himself and when he does it's for about 5 minutes. During those 5 minutes he constantly interrupts you and will even take phone calls while you're talking! His office staff are rude and unprofessional on top of it all. Go somewhere else...there are plenty of psychiatrists out there who actually care about their patients.

Unconcerned about why I was feeling how I was, constantly interrupted me while I was speaking, and only concerned about pushing pills. Zero attention to my lifestyle, nutrition, etc. Terminated me as a patient right without cause in the middle of my dealing with a family crisis of which he was aware. The guy is an egotistical jerk. Go elsewhere.

I was a new patient seeking help. Having social anxiety, I was very scared to make that initial phone call. The last thing I need was the very curt, non polite, unfriendly front desk girl answering the phone. No inviting demeaner whatsoever. I made the appointment, which was 2 weeks out (long time!). I found a competitor with a much nicer front desk girl, polite. The anxiety of having to make more phone calls is excruciating! I had to call back holiner group and cancel. After a very abrupt "please hold" upon answering the phone ( not even identifying herself or the company, I wasn't sure who i was calling) I cancelled. Didn't care why, just ok, cancelled. Go to Dallas Psychiatric care instead. Much nicer. If you are reading this and have extreme social anxiety, and are nervous to make that initial phone call, DON'T call this place, it'll just give you more anxiety!

Excellent, friendly staff. Dr. Joel Holiner is a great Doc! The facility is at the Medical City Hospital complex and is inviting and friendly. I have been with Dr. Holiner for almost a year now. This is the 1st time I feel at home and I am very happy. Kudos for all!
