Dr. Joel Lane Kent, MD

Dr Kent is so full of himself it is crazy. He is condescending, and violated my hypaa. Claiming I gave him a red flag. Usually he comes in with residents, always stays in a teaching mode, could care less about patients Since I worked in health care I have met many residents and attendings, this same doctor who brags about being a chronic pain doctor, interesting how many Pain patients he use to see, and he would say if you don't take methadone, or oxycontin, or other powerful drugs you will have to leave, Those opioid he now puts people down for especially the longer acting ones which have been proven not to work, by the way I left him, he loves making patients jump through as many hoops as possible, stay away if you are a chronic pain patient. Also if you don't jump through all his crazy hoops, he stops your meds immediately to face a dangerous withdrawal.

He is patient and kind and best of all,KNOWLEDGEABLE !!

Does not read notes & diagnosis from other referring doctors. Medication suggestions are inappropriate as he forms his own diagnosis at your consultation. I have tried new meds with no relief so I guess he doesn't care as long as insurance is paying.

Dr. Kent was exceptionally kind and helped my mother, she's a different person now that he helped her with her back pain

Saw him for approximately two and a half years for shoulder pain. Worst doctor I have ever had in my life. Left me in excruciating pain for years before a lucky accident uncovered the cause (removable cartilage tumor) and eliminated it. Had a condescending and dismissive style that appeared to stem from a belief that everyone who reports to his pain clinic must be a drug-seeker.

Dr Kent is an exceptionally knowledgeable physician. But beyond that he is kind, empathetic, and caring. I feel very fortunate to be under his care! All staff at Pain Center are so focused on making me feel comfortable.
