Dr. Joel Kerschenbaum, MD

Dr. Kerschenbaum is a great doctor. He takes his time with each patient. You may have to wait a little bit, but its worth the wait to have a good doctor who cares. I give Dr. Kerschenbaum five stars as a doctor, and he has a great bedside manner .

He has been my doctor for 17 years. He was my son's for 15. After he left Sadler, I was devastated. After 2 years, I found him with Ghmpa. He knows my medical history inside and out. Waiting room time is high but only because he is extremely thorough with each patient. He always asks about my son by name. I have read other comments about rude staff, but have never encountered this. That being said, Dr. K. is human and m ay get grumpy....but I don't care, because he is that good.

My husband has been a patient of Dr. K's for many years. I've been seeing him a little over four years. During those four years I've cancelled and rescheduled two appointments. In both instances, my appointments were not cancelled nor rescheduled. The second time this happened I went in for my rescheduled appointment and was told I didn't have an appointment. I explained to the receptionist that I had called in and spoke to Patty. She cancelled my appointment and gave me a new appointment date. The receptionist then went and "spoke to Dr. Kerschenbaum" who supposedly told her he would see me but that I would have to wait. I didn't wait. I walked out of Dr. Kerschenbaum's office and immediately made an appointment to see another doctor. Since then, I've been receiving a bill for the ORIGINAL appointment that I had cancelled. Not only is his staff incompetent - they're spiteful.

Our family has been going to Dr. Kerschenbaum for many years. It seems he and his staff have no compassion , some are RUDE !!!They do not care how sick you are even making dying cancer patients waiting an hour . They over book appointments making making everyone wait at least an hour , then expect at least another 30 minutes when you get in a room. When asked questions he should write it down so he does not have to keep asking same questions over and over . Then hope when you go to do lab work they don't lose it ! Our time is valuable also ! Recommend finding another doctor . He needs to retire !!!

I will not be returning to this office or Dr. Kerschenbaum at all. The ladies in the office are not friendly at all and have no compassion.

I scheduled an appt with Dr Kerschenbaum in order to get a form filled out for my 84 yr old father. He is a veteran and the VA asked that his primary complete a form for Assisted Living. I spoke with the office an explained what we needed and they schedule the time and date. When Dr. Kerschenbaum came in the room and we asked that he fill out the forms. He informed us that he did not do that. When I informed him that I explained what we needed when we made the appt. He got up open the door slammed it behind him and yelled at his staff. He then came back in, sat down, took the form and started to fill it out. My father is 84 yrs. old and has to use a cane and a walker sometimes. The VA informed me that I should put down that his mobility was limited. Dr. Kerschenbaum scratched through that and wrote down that he could walk around the block. My father can barely make it the mail box and back. Needless to say, we are looking for a new primary for him. Very sad to see a professional in… the business to help people, be so mean and rude.

Dr. Kerschebaum and his staff are excellent. He has a great bedside manner and gets me in for office visits within a reasonable time. He is ver accomidating. He completely explained everything and actually took me off of some medications. I feel like my health improved since I have started to see him. He we was recommended to me by a good friend who has been going to him over 20 years. By far the best doctor I have ever been to and I would and have highly recommend him.

I completely agree with Talking to a Wall. My recent visit was exactly the same. I had my file sent to this doctor almost a year ago and, when I mentioned it at the beginning of my visit, he said it was "in a back room somewhere." The staff had had a week to find it (the soonest I could get an appointment) and didn't bother to even look. He hides behind his computer (why can't a secretary do such entries?)and the long time he takes certainly isn't quality time. His sourness has gotten much worse since he left Sadler and, again, I agree with Talking to a Wall that he is way too ready to prescribe medication without even explaining what he is giving you. Terrible personality and poor treatment of patients. Won't ever go to him again.

This doctor spends too much time typing into his laptop. Covering his butt basically. No bedside manner, doesn't even look at you when you talk and doesn't try non prescription solutions first. Too eager to put you on medication. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Kerschenbaum has been my family's doctor for 25 years. He is an excellent diagnostitian, cares for my family in a very special way, and gives all of us his complete attention when we see him. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
