He was arrogant and dismissive. He did not listen and had not read my medical records before our visit. I left after consultation and found a different surgeon immediately.

Dr. MacDonald has a great bedside manner, is thorough in his diagnosis and explanations.

Botched the surgery, didn't make any effort to meet the family in the OR waiting room afterward, then lied about that. Barely followed up at all. Don't let him near you.

Great doctor, really cares, recomend to any person with back problems.

He does not follow up when he says he will. Its like it is not important to him what the MRI shows.

My experience with this Dr. is a sad comentary. He was hasty in his evaluation of my condition. Said he would follow up with my other physicians and get back to me as to the direction to take in managing my back pain. The Dr. basically said to me "take this ibuprophen and don't call me"! I was the one to call him only to get his nurse's voice mail to leave my message. Never a call back, even to review the EMG test I took. I would never refer a friend to this Dr. I definitely would never let him preform surgery on me. This Dr. is not interested in his patient's welfare. This Dr. deserves the worst rating available. I am so sorry that I wasted my time seeing him. Worst physician experience of my life.

Dr. MacDonald was wonderful and experienced. He was thoughtful about how to plan my surgery and followed up once I was home with a phone call to make sure everything was still good. He has a dry sense of humor, so watch for it. No ego issues, which was refreshing.
