Dr. Joel S Madrid, MD

It took me a few days to write this because my daughter, granddaughter, and I left the office of Reston Pediatrics so upset and mistreated that I needed a few days to think about it. We had an appointment to see Dr. Madrid for my granddaughter's well visit. I came to the appointment with them because my daughter is 8 months pregnant with a very high risk pregnancy and my grandaughter is very anxious at the doctor. Dr. Madrid was incredibly unprofessonal. He was critical, cold, harsh and impatient with not only my young grandaughter but my daughter as well. He was told upfront that my granddaughter was neervous with doctors and be basically taunted her with his light. At one point in his frustration he said "well i can see you are quite the Princess" His actions an dbehavior were not only disappointing but disturbing to say the least. Mid appointment he had the baby so upset he waslked out saying he'd be back when she was calmed down. Needless to say we left with none of my… daughters concerns addressed. I felt compelled to write this because as a grandmother (and a mother of 4 adult children who also used Reston Pediatrics) I would be renmiss by not communicating our experience. It would be sad for him to be allowed to treat another young mother and child in this manner!
