Dr. Joel Jacob Mathew, MD

He's a great physician. I would recommend him to anyone!

I had had my fair share of mishaps in the NY medical system by the time I was met this physician and his practice. So sure, the wait was a bit long but come on. this is NY City and people are sick and people are busy!! So I was thrilled with my 20 minute wait. I immediately gravitated toward Dr. Mathew. He was empathetic and courtesy. His knowledge and bedside manner were rivaled by his humor and great personality. He was excellent and answered all my questions - can you believe that!! He actually took the time to me and make me feel like a partner in my own care rather the paternalistic physicians that I'm used to. His follow-up was great. I got my results within a week. I was impressed by Dr. Mathew and his staff and am thrilled that he is my primary care physician.

I waited over 3 hours until finally seeing the doctor for a standard physical. Apparently he spent a lot of time in his office writing notes while a room of sick patients waited to be seen, very inconsiderate of the patients. I was not the only person who waited for over 3 hrs. Staff were friendly but the office management is terrible. Staff also would not provide me my test results until the doctor called me to discuss, which he has failed to do and is now on vacation. While being examined (finally), the doctor also left the room once midway into my physical to tend to other matters. I am never again going back to him or anyone in the Manhattan Physician's Group. There are so many healthcare providers to choose from, there is no point in putting up with this. Terrible experience.
