Excellent Specialist. I highly recommend him. His is educated and cares. He is just what I need from a specialist.

Worst appointment I've ever had - ended up walking out mid appointment. This "doctor" was condescending and not knowledgeable. Go elsewhere!

Rude, Self Centered, Personality of a rock, Would never make it as a GP because no one would go back to see him.

He kept us waiting for half an hour in the room and when he finally arrived, spent the next half hour GOOGLING medical journals and articles on what we can do with my medical condition. I could have done that for free, and he billed me $250. Oh, and when my husband tried asking him questions while he was doing his 'research' online...he told him, "one moment" because he was interrupting his search. He IS NOT knowledgeable in Hepatitis B as claims to be, was rude and not approachable, and should have just told us from the beginning didn't know what to consult us on. Oh, and than he expected us to follow up with him again in 2 weeks (yeah right) after we did the SAME labs that we had already done.

Dr. T figured out what was wrong with me after several painful months of getting the run around from other specialists, I'm so thankful for him! He is a straight shooter and doesn't beat around the bush!

Dr Joel is awesome! He knows his stuff and he puts heart into what he does. He went above and beyond for me. He has assisted me at a time i wasn't sure how i was going to handle things. Thanks you Dr for everything! Highly recommend him

This guy can be a hard pill to swallow. My first visit was just awful. He's concise and forceful.... called me out on all my poor lifestyle choices. Dr. Trachtenberg is serious about helping his patients live stronger healthier lives. Normally, it's the patient evaluating the doctor but in Joel's case, it's the other way around. He is extraordinarily capable and eerily perceptive and expects his patients to do their part. He is unlike any doctor I've ever had. There is no run around, no mincing of words, no wasting of time. If you're serious about your health, you need a serious doctor. If you survive his "shock and awe," you'll learn to LOVE this guy. One of the best and certainly the most memorable doc EVER!

This doctor was very difficult to communicate with and I felt as if I were on trial ! Visiting him was a very negative experience!

Diagnosed bacterial meningitis that occurred for a 2nd time but did not provide any additional information to assist in peace of mind or ways to prevent further occurrences and staff did not complete disability paperwork in timely manner. In excess of 3 weeks and still not completed.

I wish I had read these reviews before wasting my time going to this doctor. He spent most of the time trying to disprove my current diagnoses and about 20 minutes of a lecture on the "correct" way to practice medicine, implying that all of my other doctors have it wrong. Wanted me off all my medication and was extremely condescending. When it got time to to discuss the actual reason I was there he was so off the mark and ill-educated that it was almost laughable. Thankfully I knew better and decided I had had enough so left. I can not recommend this doctor.
