Dr. Johanna Chock Bendell, MD

Dr. Bendell is such a warm, caring, and very experienced Doctor. Dr. Bendell, put my husband and I at such ease, in a very difficult situation. I would recommend her to all my family and friends... this is one smart lady. I’m very thankful Tennessee has this incredible Doctor in our State.

She deserves the worst rating ever. Cancer patients already have it tough as it is, but her attitude specifically towards my mom made this whole journey 10 times worse. My mom was going through so much with her cancer and the least I wanted my mom was to feel let down after every visit to this doctor. It was never the bad news, but it was always her attitude towards my mom. She doesn't know how to respect people and their beliefs. My mom and I felt so much discrimination. I am sorry to say. She showed no empathy nor any sort of genuineness in her care. Seems like she was all in for the money in the first place. She carries herself with arrogance rather than humility. Not a humble doctor at all, sorry to say!!!

I went to Dr Bendell because my surgeon and my previous oncologist gave me 6 to 8 months to live. Oncologist said chemo would not help. That was 17 months ago. I don't have the life I had before, but, my life is much better than what the two doctors thought it would be. She and her staff ( NP Holly Bushart) are absolutely professional

Dr. Bendell is the best gastric oncologist in the country!

This woman has control issues. She displayed no empathy. By her behaviour she isn't interested in working with a patient's input or respecting their belief systems. If she had it right most of her clinical trials woudn't be "no benefit" outcome. Yet she acts with superiority instead of humility. Her you tube video about her trials is disturbing. She shows inappropriate enthusiasm since most of these trials aren't yielding positive results. Cancer patients are not income sources we are people. Wish I could send her a bill for wasting my time.

Doesn't manage her time well. Spent over 2 hours waiting for her each and every office visit. Not very intune to her patients and doesn't listen to them. She always wants to use "side effects of chemo" as the excuse for a patient being sick. Not satisfied with care received from her!

Very caring and personal demeanor. Prompt decision making skills. The staff and nurses all love her and they are never wrong.
