Johanna Thompson, Pharm D

Johanna grew up in Montesano, Washington. She earned her Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Hillsdale College in Michigan and later a PharmD from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center St. Margaret and then moved to Utah for a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at University of Utah.
Johanna has worked with Intermountain Health as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist and as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in primary care for Providence. She has taken a special interest in geriatric medicine and is board certified in geriatric pharmacotherapy. She is passionate about deprescribing medications in older adults and helping patients successfully manage their medications. She also has an interest in osteoporosis, diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction, as well as teaching and mentoring pharmacy and medical students and residents.
In her spare time, she often enjoys the outdoors – skiing, …mountain biking, hiking, or running. She enjoys trying new things and has recently branched out into pickleball and swing dancing. She also enjoys spending time with her family members, roughhousing with her nieces and nephews whenever possible. Johanna collects Glassybaby votives and loves mentoring the youth through her church.
