Dr. Johannes Martin Neuendorf, DO

Dr. Neuendorf helped me at Scripps Urgent Care, La Jolla. He treated me very professionally and was in tune with my symptoms regarding a UTI. He ordered extensive tests which will help me rehabilitate in the future. He offered a medication on the spot for Candida, which many doctors disregard, and told me what to expect. His service to me was thorough and even though my sodium was not drastically low, he said, "maybe you have a sensitive system" and ordered a saline IV drip. He sent in another sodium test request as a follow-up and explained that it would go to my primary care physician. The discharge discussion was cordial, and he asked if I had any other questions. He reassured me that I should return if symptoms worsened and I felt comforted and encouraged. This happened on Feb. 4, and the real bummer is my doctor is not available until the 25th. If my symptoms return, it's off to urgent care because Health Express will not do follow-ups. It took 6 hours and Dr. Neuendorf apologized… for the inconvenience.

We visited Dr. Nuendorf today in the ER after waiting three hours. When called finally, he not only explained to us that we were going to have to wait ANOTHER three hours but delivered it in a manner that it was an inconvenience to HIM. The procedure needed to be done was a paracentesis which takes 20 minutes. His excuse was that it would take a long time to find the materials. His bedside manner was less than exceptional and he should work on being personable with patients as that is quite literally his job. He also stated that the hospital was understaffed and he really didn’t have time.

Dr Neuendorf was upbeat and seems pleasant enough at first but my concern with him was that he seemed to lack knowledge of female anatomy and looked confused when I used technical rather than lay terms to explain my symptoms. Luckily my diagnosis did not rely on his knowledge of the female body and was confirmed with lab results but I definitely would not want to see him if I was suffering from symptoms only women suffer from. If you have a broken toe, he's your guy, but if you are suffering from acute pain due to a fibroid rupturing or a cyst on your ovaries do not expect him to have any idea at to what you are talking about. I realize that he has been practicing a long time but I believe some sensitivity training would help him relate better to his female patients.

I had the worst experience w this person.. I will not acknowledge that he is a physician… I was not taken to a treatment room but taken behind a curtain in the lobby… I was having a anxiety attack but he proceeded to brow beat me about my medication… where everyone could hear… it has been so traumatizing that I am still reeling form it.. I don’t see how this person is claiming to be a Doctor and that Scripps Clinic La Jolla allows him to work there… I don’t recommend him…

Dr Nueuendorf was unfortunately my doctor at a visit to the urgent care in Torrey Pines. He had the worst bedside manner ever, and also humiliated me in front of other staff. Fortunately, the other staff didn't really give into him, and we're ultimately pleasant. He also didn't have a set of labs ordered during my visit, yet had the nerve to put the test as part of my discharge/follow up plan.

Brilliant doctor. I’ve seen my primary care twice and urgent care once. They all kept saying it’s pneumonia. Finally one night, I went to the ER cause something didn’t feel right. Dr. Neuendorf was skeptical of the previous diagnosis. Put in labs and admitted me. Turns out he was right. Many thanks to him for getting me the help I need. Even though it is a much more serious chronic issue, I’m getting the right care. If it wasn’t for him, they’d still be trying to treat my “pneumonia.”

I had just had a baby a few days before and went to urgent care due to some embarrassing postpartum issues I was having. He had a great sense of humor and helped me feel at ease. He talked to me about his children which also helped me feel more comfortable. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. He ordered additional labs just to assure everything was ok. I found him to have great bedside demeanor.

Rude and arrogant. Told me that my disease which was acknowledged by the cdc and diagnosed by a md doc was “hogwash”. Put in my discharge notes that i was unwilling to listen to a er doc about getting second opinion. Even though I said i would call the next day for one. Never once disagreed. I have always had such a positive experience at scripts green. This was awful. Oh he did let me know if I ever got hit by a truck that he’s the doc to see. He said this twice. I left in tears.

Mean, Extremely Rude, Arrogant, Negligent - find a different hospital or get another Doctor. Anyone but him.
