Dr. John Francis Alburger, MD

I cannot recommend this doctor highly enough. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, experienced, proficient, and gentle. I feel very fortunate to have been treated by him. The woman in the office was lovely to me. The entire encounter was as pleasant as a somewhat painful procedure could be. I am thankful to have found this practice.

First of all, let me state that going to this "doctor" is dangerous. I have a deviated septum. He wanted to take out my tonsils and adenoids and do more unnecessary, dangerous extensive surgery. I'm 50. There is nothing wrong with my tonsils or adenoids. If I could give a negative star I would. Then lets get to Joyce, receptionist/wife. Charging me for a missed appt I NEVER made. Diagnosing me, herself, over the phone. Forget getting the narcissistic Dr a message. If you sit in their office long enough, as I have, with a massive sinus infection and a 103 fever, you will hear them fight viciously. Dr Alburger ONLY want to make money doing un-needed surgery; Instead of listening to my symptoms he wanted to tell me how he was Hilary Clinton's Dr in Bethesda and tell me how he didn't need my money bc he was an ENT and Plastic surgeon in Naples. His wife is a mental study of passive aggressive psychosis. Not an ENT practice. A shop of horrors.

Never saw Dr. Alburger, had to deal with a contract employee who the crazy lady at the front desk called Dr. Luis. I went to this office to get hearing aids, the hearing test itself was minimal and done in a hurry, Dr. Luis spoke English but his understanding of the language left much to be desired. Right away I had problems with the charging system of the hearing aids, when I tried to explain this to Dr. Luis he tried to convince me that I was charging them incorrectly. I called the office on two different occasions to find out if they had contacted the manufacture, and was told by Joyce (crazy lady at front desk) that she ordered me one battery the first time, and the second time that they were waiting on a recording between myself and the customer service representative who told me they were shipping a new charging system to the Dr. office to replace the defective one from the manufacture. Oh. the hearing aid manufacture is Resound Gx. and I would not recommend them for any hearing… aid, as their product malfunctioned within 3 weeks and it seams impossible to get replacement parts.

Dr. Alburger gave me a very thorough exam and answered my many questions and concerns. I found him to be very caring and extremely experienced and knowledgable.

I have nothing negative to say in regards to Dr. Alburger, however the woman (his wife) that works his front desk is the most disrespectful, rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional , non-compliant employee he could ever have working for him, in result I have transferred my kids to another ENT. She talks about his patients negatively to other people. I know this for a fact as I work in the medical field myself and she has done it on the phone with me when requesting medical records. Please advise!

The technician that performed this test, a subcontractor I believe, was awful. He left me alone several times for almost 20 minutes one time. He dropped something and panicked, I heard him huffing and puffing. I could not finish the test. When I complained to the receptionist she was very uncaring and mad at me not the technician. I asked if I could have another technician to complete the test another day, I was too upset to finish that day, I was told "we are a small office and cannot get anyone else." I never returned.

I like Dr. Alburger. He was helpful with my issues. He's a bit too technical for the layman, so be sure to ask questions. However, his assistant/secretary is rude and doesn't seem to want to do her job. Heaven forbid you should ask for information from your records. I put up with her for a few years but had a last straw moment, on the phone no less, and I've not gone back and don't plan to. She seriously lacks people skills. Another commenter mentioned that she is his wife so she must feel she can get away with anything. I've only had dealings with her. She gets 5 stars for rudeness. There was a younger gal that seemed very nice. Pray she's there for your appointment. My overall rating is a reflection on the receptionist.

Dr. Alburger is THE BEST! He helped my son with acid reflux. Diagnosis was exactly correct. Very knowledgeable.

Dr. Alburger seems to know what he is talking about and answered all our questions. However, I stopped going to him as I did not like the way the receptionist deals with people. She is rude and unprofessional and should not be in a job where day to day people contact is involved. I won't know how he would have done with my problems because of the office staff.
