Dr. John Onssy Anis, MD

My chronically ill, transplant patient girlfriend has had the extreme misfortune of being Dr. Anis' charge several times at Cottage Hospital's ER. He is infinitely more concerned with his own ego and power, and cannot spare one shred of attention for active listening, compassion, or consideration of a patient's medical history. This man does not treat patients as human beings, even those who are in the worst health crisis of their lives and desperate for help. He has zero problem discharging someone who is in excruciating pain, or denying critical labs necessitated by thoroughly documented deficiencies, or flat-out insulting someone who is in crisis. When he does draw labs he makes it a point to order something different than the patient's request, in an obvious and pathetic attempt at establishing power. And when the labs come back he may very well tell the patient "everything is normal" when it is in fact not, such as when he discharged my girlfriend with low potassium after assuring… her it was normal. I wish I could get the word out to a wider audience because no stain on this man's reputation is great enough. Not only useless, absolutely neglectful and dangerous.

I was nervous going into the ER, but I found Dr.Anis to be professional, confident, knowledgable, personable and caring. It really helped put my mind at ease. I highly recommend this Doctor.
