Dr. John Wesley Bailey, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Bailey for almost 10 years. I have since moved to Colorado and fly to Texas to see him because he is a very straight shooter, honest and does not tell me what I want to hear simply because it is easier console. I find most doctors to be patronizing and narcissistic; I don't get that from Doc Bailey.

Dr. Bailey has been my doc since 2005 & it’s 2019 and I will FOREVER be a patient of his!?? I REFUSE to see Dr. Carter, due to he made me feel very uncomfortable and Dr.Murphy REFUSED to see me because I did not have health insurance at the time...I did once before in the past when Dr. Bailey was on vacation AND I said, I NEVER would do that again!.. I rather wait till Dr. Bailey gets back or if it’s an emergency then the hospital. When Dr. Bailey suggest I need in depth tests..I most certainly TRUST Dr. Bailey.. Since Day one, anytime I have an appointment to see Dr. Bailey, he shakes my hand as soon as he walks in room. I have NEVER had a doctor shake my hand every visit, who was kind, listen, professional, did not rush me out room, respectful bedside manner and actually cares. Dr. Bailey has NEVER let me down AND he gets me. It’s not about the money with Dr. Bailey..He LISTENS to me when I tell him I feel sick or something doesn’t feel right in my body, and he gets to the root of… it....even if it includes involving other doctor’s, lab work, CT’s,X-rays. I listen to him as well, because he is the doctor and I TRUST he knows what’s best for me.. Dr. Bailey is very knowledgeable... I have referred my friends to him and they have referred there friends to Dr.Bailey. When I did not have health insurance, Dr.Bailey NEVER charged me crazy amounts of money like some other doctor’s that do not care about the patient and milk patients for money!!!!. I’ve had some friends share stories with me about some other doctor’s charging them for tests they didn’t even do etc... Dr.Bailey was the ONLY doctor who would see me as a patient when I did not have health insurance. Dr. Bailey would pull up pharmacy or diagnostic test facility that were cheaper to get my medicine/testing because he knew my situation. Dr. Bailey goes above and beyond for his patients. Dr.Bailey is passionate about helping people!.. People writing terrible reviews about Dr. Bailey should be ashamed of yourselves and should choke on a BIG bag of dicks! Everyone is entitled to an OPINION, now you have my OPINION! Btw, Ms. Trish who has been with the office for years at the front desk is such a sweetheart, professional, kind and is always so helpful. I am disappointed to see the other reviews of Dr. Bailey. I was his patient for a couple of years before I moved to Portland. He took excellent care of my needs. I returned from Portland in 2017 and began seeing Dr Bailey again. He listens, asks probing questions and has always founds solutions to any problems. Everyone should remember that he is a Family Doctor, he has broad experience. Should you need more indepth expertise, he should send you to a specialist to ensure you the best care. I don't believe he's all about money, he cared for me even when I didn't have insurance.

This Dr (John Bailey) required me to go see a psychiatrist for my anti-anxiety medication becation he said he'd been contacted by the DEA and was uncomfortable writing schedule IV prescriptions. It turns out he's under investigation by the DEA. He's not interested in treating you ( he diagnosed me with severe Type II diabetes but refused to treat me unless I went and saw his Endocrinologist friend. Since I couldn't be seen within six weeks - he still refused to treat me. I only could receive treatment at emergency rooms. This man is only interested in making money, not helping you. He will not prescribe medications you need, for personal "moral" reasons. It turns out he's overprescribed schedule IV meds and is under investigation. In the meantime I nearly died. AVOID these people and the entire office.

Grandson hurt, out of state, reg meds had not been filled nor an explanation nor a call from doctor and i might have to leave town quickly and can't stop taking these meds and when I called and left message on after hrs line, he returned call very unprofessionally yelling at me that he needed blood work (and it was third time in very short while and had sent him copy of results just gotten by my urologist. Told him our relationship was over send me my records. Got letter apologizing for yelling but he was trying to deal with son in therapy same time he called me back and comparing my anger to his sons. Also when I got my records which he kept on computert there were misrepresentations that looked like they were changed to make me look bad. Only on one script been on for over thirty years, and don't know why he was so angry, but I don't have anything to do with angry people in regular life and I am sure not going to a doctor that takes his anger for his son's condition out on me.

I've seen Dr. Bailey a few times in the past for minor things, but went recently for something more complicated. I have asked about this issue with previous doctors, and got nothing but very basic blood work and speculation over several years. Dr. Bailey had a few suspect causes in mind, but said he would do a LOT of different in depth tests to try and figure this out. In one visit, he pondered more possibilities than all the previous doctors I've ever asked about this issue combined. He may not find the cause immediately, but if not I don't think it will be due to a lack of trying on his part.This may sound trivial, but you might be surprised how hard it can be to have a doctor truly investigate the cause of a not-so-obvious issue. I have no idea what's wrong with me, but am thrilled to finally feel that someone is truly looking into it!Aside from that, in my several visits I have always found Dr. Bailey to listen well, ask meaningful questions, and explain things when needed. As a… bonus, he seems like a nice guy in general. It's like finding Sasquatch :) I've never waited long to see the doctor, and he spent quite a bit of time talking with me. The staff mostly seems friendly and helpful. My husband is a regular patient of Dr. Bailey's who has seen him many times over the years, and really sings his praises. If you're looking for a helpful, intelligent, friendly non-pretentious family doctor, this may be the one for you.
