Dr. John Ely Barb, DO

I’ve been with Dr. Barb for many years and he does keep it real with people. He doesn’t sugar coat anything and tries to find a solution to whatever ails you. He is kind and caring and thorough. I’d recommend him to anyone looking in the Cleveland clinic network!

Worst doctor I ever saw and wasted 6 months of my time. 6 months of suffering and his diagnosis was completely wrong.

I was a patient there and it took 6 months from X-ray to mri. He was rude to me. Made comments like “no wonder drs don’t like you “. “I’m not looking for stuff”. I came there desperate for help. The X-ray showed an issue and he never looked into what it suggested. Simple blood work showed it. When I got mri I did research myself and when I finally got to specialists everything I had been saying made sense. He didn’t care. My last visit I had a friend with me. The nurse said are you here with so and so. My friend said yes. And she rolled her eyes and walked away. They thought I was crazy. But every other dr Iv seen has listened. And all my symptoms are real and now make sense. He was clueless my guess. I’ll find a new PCP. Every specialist agreed it shouldn’t have taken 6 months to get mri and get to drs who KNEW what was wrong. He didn’t want to look for stuff. Lol. I thought that was his job???

I really like doctor Barb. I think he is a good doctor but like so many big box stores you loose the personal end of caring. A primary doctor needs to follow thru with your health matters and make calls to not only you but also the doctor he refers you to. He has run alot of test and it has cost me alot of out of pocket but if it is needed that is ok. The problem I see is he sends you to another doctor for some think and the forget to send the results and will not imform the other doctor of the reason he sent you. Which leaves you to try to explain everything to them. I feel a primary doctor needs to help more than he is will to.

I have always liked Dr. Barb and his caring patient ways. He is very precise when it comes to illness or personal problems. He is overall a great Doctor and his staff is wonderful too!!!! I would reccomend him to anyone!

Cares about his patients. Takes time to address your concerns. He does like to run lots of labs/tests often, which sometimes can cause a lot of out of pocket expenses for the patient. But, a very good doctor.
