Dr. John D Barnes, DDS

Meet Dr. Barnes...
Dr. Barnes is a native of Huntsville and is deeply commited to his community and profession.
After graduating from Grissom High School he received a B.S. Degree from Birmingham Southern College. Upon graduating from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1981 he returned home to complete a General Practice Residency at Huntsville Hospital. He opened his private practice in 1982.
Dr. Barnes has since received considerable recognition in the profession from his peers. He is listed in the Who's Who in Dentistry and has Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, and the International College of Dentists. He has been president of the Huntsville-Madison County Dental Society, University of Alabama School of Dentistry Alumni Association, and the Alabama Academy of Gerneral Dentistry. Dr. Barnes is also a member of many other professional and scientific organizations, such as the …American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, as well as numerous civic and community organizations.  The list of honors received during his education and since reflect the nature of his commitment.
As an office, we are proud to say that in the year 2008, Dr. Barnes is now a part of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry Leadership Council.  He was also nominated and inducted as a Fellow into the International College of Dentists.  Also in 2008, Dr. Barnes completed a mini-residency in implants at the Bicon Implant Institute in Boston. 
When not in the office, Dr. Barnes enjoys many activities with family and friends.  Such as: tennis, boating, skiing, and other outdoor hobbies.
