I found my way to Dr. Barnhill in a time of great distress. I so appreciate his intelligence, empathy, sense of humor, a rare quality among psychiatrists. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking the best.

After being under his care for over 10 years I can only offer praise for his counsel and treatment. The quality of my life was elevated from suffering of major depression to one of being able to enjoy a normal and fulfilling existence. Getting an appointment with him is a not trivial effort

My wife saw Dr. Barnhill while she was in the hospital. During that time, Dr. Barnhill was kind, smart, and had a disarming sense of humor. I can't recommend him enough.

Dr. Barnhill is a very special psychiatrist and person. Unlike many other physicians in his chosen specialty, he carries no "airs," nor display any narcisstic attributes. He's extremely easy to talk to, as he's very soft-spoken, down-to-earth and truly seems to care about his patients. He provides excellent insights and his therapeutic style is also quite unique, as there's more of a "give and take" in conversation, rather than (he, the therapist) just nodding in a corner with very little to say, which is also common among his peers. The ONLY downside in seeing Dr. B. as a private patient is that since he has many other duties at the hospital, he can be hard to pin down at times. But he's 100% worth it (!!!), once you and he figure out a good system, in which to communicate outside the office.

Dr. Barnhill is unlike many in his chosen speciality, as he doesn't flaunt a huge ego, nor exhibit any narcissitic attributes, which is common in other psychiatrists. He's extremely easy to talk to, as he's patient, soft-spoken and seems to care a great deal about his patients. He provides excellent insihts and his therapeutic style is also unique, as there's more of a "give and take" in conversation, unlike ("the psychiatrist") who justs nods, while sitting in a corner. The ONLY (minor) downside in seeing Dr. B as a private patient is that he has many other duties at the hospital, and therefore, is sometimes hard to pin down. But he is worth it in every way!!!
